The Council for Educational Travel (CETUSA) is a nonprofit international exchange organization that coordinates meaningful, life-changing cultural exchange experiences for high school students, university students, and young professionals. We work with volunteer host families, high schools, universities, and host employers across the U.S., and partner with numerous international sending organizations worldwide.
CETUSA is a U.S. Department of State Exchange Visitor (J-1 visa) sponsor organization.
Job Overview:
The Quality & Compliance Specialist plays a vital role in ensuring that all host family placements align with Department of State (DOS) regulations and CETUSA best practices. This position is responsible for reviewing host family applications, conducting compliance checks, assisting with criminal background screenings, and ensuring that all placements meet program standards. The ideal candidate has exceptional attention to detail, strong communication skills, and a deep understanding of regulatory compliance within the BridgeUSA J-1 program.
Key Responsibilities:
Ideal Candidates will possess:
A passion for cross-cultural understanding!
A High School Diploma or higher.
Experience in compliance, quality control or administrative review.
Strong attention to detail and the ability to spot inconsistencies.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with local coordinators, as well as internal and external teams.
Ability to appropriately review, manage and communicate effectively regarding sensitive personal information.
Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently while meeting deadlines.
High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint).
Physical Requirements:
This position requires the ability to perform tasks that may include extended periods of sitting at a desk using a computer and engaging in office-related activities. The ideal candidate should be able to sit or stand for extended periods of time; use a computer an keyboard for extended hours; communicate clearly in person, by phone, and via email.
