    Job Overview:

    School psychologists help children and youth attain overall school success. They collaborate with educators, parents and other professionals to create safe, healthy and supportive learning environments that strengthen connections between home, school and the community for all students. School psychologists are highly trained in both psychology and education and complete a minimum of a specialist-level graduate degree program. School Psychologists provide counseling, instruction and mentoring for those students experiencing academic, behavioral and mental health concerns. They increase student achievement by assessing barriers to learning and determining the best instructional strategies to improve learning. School Psychologists promote student wellness and resilience by reinforcing communication and life skills, problem solving, anger management, self-regulation, self-determination and optimism. This Psychologist will also perform other duties as assigned.

    Experience Requirements:

    • A Minimum of 2 years of experience
    • Data-based decision making and accountability
    • Counseling (individual and group)
    • Crisis prevention and intervention
    • Family-school collaboration services
    • Psychoeducational evaluation
    • Identify tiered academic, behavioral, and life skills interventions
    • Consultation and collaboration
    • Professional development for parents regarding behavior and learning for students

    Physical Requirements:

    • The ability to exert very moderate physical effort in light work, typically involving some combination of stooping, kneeling, crouching and crawling, and which may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of moderate weight (12-20 pounds). Sensory Requirements Most tasks require visual perception and discrimination. Some tasks require oral communications ability.

    Education Requirements:

    • Florida licensure in Mental Health Counseling or equivalent licenses
