    About the Role:

    Aquila is seeking a RF Software Engineer to join our team in supporting one of the country’s premier defense research organizations. The RF Software Engineer will primarily be developing, modeling, and simulation of Radar systems and the RF environment. Experience developing software for configuration, control, visualization and operation of large, complex, multi-sensor engagement scenarios is highly preferred. This includes signal processing, control, messaging, graphical displays, operator interfaces, data capture and data analysis.

    There are a few requirements for the position:

    • Must be a U.S Citizen- Authorized to Work in the US - Must have an Active Clearance (Green Cards / Visas do not qualify)
    • Willingness to undergo a comprehensive background investigation and maintain a personal security clearance. (Aquila would sponsor you for the security clearance.)
    • Must be within commutable distance of Lexington, Massachusetts.

    Responsibilities:

    Will include but not limited to:
    • Design, specify, implement, test, maintain and document modular software functionality within existing sensor simulation frameworks utilizing modern software engineering techniques, open-source programming tools, and Laboratory-specific support processes
    • Architect, design, implement, test, maintain and document operation and analysis software suites providing efficient scenario generation and execution for multi-system engagements at high precision and large scale
    • Collaborate, develop and manage software products through effective use of version control and continuous integration software
    • Organize multiple assignments for separate programs to meet aggressive schedules with high-quality products
    • Participate in defining, describing and implementing deliverable capabilities
    • Evaluate and propose use of open source and commercial software, frameworks, libraries and tools where applicable
    • Provide system administration for both Windows and Linux operating systems, including remote and virtual capabilities
    • Work independently and in small groups with frequent (daily) peer interaction and less frequent (weekly) supervision

    Location: Hybrid - This position will work a hybrid or onsite work schedule. This does require someone to be local to the Lexington, MA area as there are portions of this project that must be done onsite. The breakdown will be 50/50, minimum, to fully onsite, depending on assignment and team dynamics. Even when hybrid, some weeks may be more remote and some weeks more onsite; it will change with program needs.
