MUST HAVE IR EXPERIENCE Cardiovascular / Interventional Radiology Registered Nurse Responsible for Monitoring Diagnostic Heart Cath - Required Scrub in for Vascular Procedures - Required Moderate Sedation Experience - Required Sensis Software Experience - Preferred EMR Epic knowledge - Required Current Nursing License - Required Current BLS & ACLS Certified - Required
Active state Registered Nursing (RN) License; required. Current BCLS (AHA), ACLS certificate upon hire and maintain current; required. One (1) year clinical experience in a Cardiovascular Lab doing cardiac work or in a Critical Care area; This position is 4 days 10 hours shifts M-F 7am Start time
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Under the direction of the Charge Nurse and /or Nursing Coordinator, the Staff Nurse is responsible for coordinating and evaluating the nursing care for an assigned number of patients.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Knows and abides by all hospital policies and procedures.
Perform duties in accordance with the above and under the direction of his/her Head Nurse / Charge Nurse, in accordance with the current theory and practice and the philosophy of the Nursing Service.
Communicates effectively with all team members regarding all facets of patient care.
Participates and initiate team conferences to improve the communication process and the quality of patient care.
Participates in shift report according to assignment with adequate and pertinent patient information.
Administers therapy and medication as prescribed by the physician.
Assists the physician with procedures, surgeries, and delivers.
Applies, executes, and records legal orders of the physician concerning therapy(ies) and medication(s) with an an understanding cause and effect.
Maintains accurate and legible patient records. Reviews augment and co-sign all charting by ancillary personnel.
Participates with the charge nurse in planning, directing and coordinating patient care; assumes primary responsibility for the care and comfort of a group or patients, as assigned (e.g. Team Leader).
Il. Makes initial and concurrent patient assessment in conjunction with the team members to provide optimal patient care.
Formulates a nursing care plan for each patient, evaluates the result of nursing intervention and makes appropriate adaptations.
Assumes responsibility for implementing patient teaching.
Communicates the patient's needs regarding transfers/discharge planning to appropriate resource people.
Refers frequently to physician's orders, patient medical records, and Kardex to assure delivery or accurate and quality care.
Reports and records changes in the patient's condition, as well as response to medication.
Establishes good interpersonal relations with patients, families, physicians, and peers.
Displays initiative, versatility, and adaptability.
Assists co-workers and accepts changes in assignments when necessary.
Performs other duties assigned by the Head Nurse / Charge within job classification.
Continues professional growth through formal graduate courses: attends continuing education programs sponsored by the community and other health agencies. Participates in unit conferences and staff development programs structured by the Education and Training Department.
Maintains a professional image by appearance and manner in all working relationships whether interdepartmental, peer, physicians, co-workers, patients, and/or families.
EDUCATION AND TRAINING:
Graduate of a state-approved and accredited School of Registered Nursing.
Currently licensed in the State of Practice.
One-year recent acute hospital experience.
BCLS Certification is required.
ACLS and any other certificates that shows proof of any or advanced courses obtained.
