Job Description: RN/LPN at Legacy at Herington
Overview: Legacy at Herington, under the management of Campbell Street Senior Living, is seeking compassionate and dedicated Registered Nurses (RN) and Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) to join our team. Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care, including monitoring vital signs, administering medications, treatments, and managing care plans for residents in accordance with physician orders.
- Supervise and lead a team of nursing assistants (CNAs), ensuring that care standards are met and that residents receive the highest quality care.
- Assess patient conditions, communicate observations, and collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure the best care plan for each resident.
- Document all care activities, patient interactions, and any changes in condition in a timely and accurate manner.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, and ensure proper documentation in accordance with state regulations and facility policies.
- Provide emotional support and comfort to residents and their families, offering guidance and updates on care progress.
- Ensure compliance with all healthcare regulations, including HIPAA, state licensing, and the facility’s policies and procedures.
- Assist with the training, supervision, and evaluation of nursing staff.
- Participate in quality assurance activities, resident care conferences, and other facility initiatives.
- Assist with admissions and discharges, ensuring that care plans and services are properly transitioned.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Nursing or nursing management team.
Education Requirements & Qualifications:
- For RN : Current, valid Registered Nurse license in the state of Kansas.
- For LPN : Current, valid Licensed Practical Nurse license in the state of Kansas.
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- CPR and First Aid certification required.
- Previous experience in long-term care, assisted living, or skilled nursing is preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, nursing procedures, and the ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and team members.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to provide empathetic, high-quality care.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, including assisting residents with mobility.
- Must be able to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods.
- Ability to assist residents with mobility, transfers, and personal care needs.
- May be required to push, pull, or carry equipment such as wheelchairs, medical supplies, or carts.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, occasionally under stressful conditions.
- Ability to communicate effectively with staff, residents, and families in person or via electronic means.
