Registered Nurse/RN Med/Surg PCU Telemetry

Location: Akron, OH

Shift:

• Days- 07:00- 19:30
• Nights- 19:00- 07:30

Weekly schedule:

• 13 week contract opportunity with possibility of extension
• 3x12- 36 hours/week

Pay Rate:

• Up to $64/hour

Unit Description:

This is a 21-bed cardiac step-down/tele and stroke overflow unit. Float is required. ACLS/BLS/NIH required. NO BLOCK SCHEDULE REQUESTS. Candidates must have 2+ years of PCU/TELE experience to be considered. Must be able to draw blood and start IV’s. Ratios 1:4 sometimes 1:5. Interviews are required.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive patient care in a telemetry unit, including monitoring vital signs and EKG readings.
• Administer medications and IV therapy as prescribed, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
• Perform catheterization and phlebotomy procedures while maintaining accurate documentation in EHR systems.
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to assess patient needs and develop care plans.
• Educate patients and families on health management and discharge instructions.

Requirements:

• 2 years of recent experience as a Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN)
• Epic experience in the past year
• strong phlebotomy skills
• BLS, ACLS, NIH certifications
