    Shore Outpatient Surgicenter has an immediate need for a full time RN PAT Caller! At Shore Outpatient Surgicenter, we focus on offering a high quality, service oriented environment for your surgical procedure. Our facility is accredited by Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care.

    Job Summary: The RN Pre-Admission Testing (PAT) Caller is responsible for contacting all pre-surgical patients to assess medical and medication history; review the patients chart for appropriate labs, X-ray, EKG, and appropriate clearances to determine where and when these procedures are to be completed and provide preadmission teaching.

    Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Plans and prepares for the pre-admission of the patient.
    • Meets all required deadlines. Demonstrates discretionary ability in establishing priority.
    • Delivers indirect care according to established standards, taking into consideration the age and risk factors of the patient.
    • Possess the knowledge and ability to u se the nursing process to assess, plan, implement and evaluate the care of the patient.
    • Uses nursing judgement in decision making.
    • Acts as a patients advocate in meeting his/her physical and psychological needs.
    • Performs patient pre-admission assessment in accordance with standards of care with documentation of these assessments as a basis for planning each patient’s care.
    • Ensures that all nursing interventions and patients responses are communicated to responsible practitioners as indicated and that all components of the nursing process are documented in accordance with standards of practice.
    • Integrated and coordinates care across settings and among disciplines.
    • Implements physician’s orders effectively and safely in accordance with standards of practice.
    • Ability to recognize and intervene in stressful situations.
    • Maintains BLS certifications as applicable
    • Maintains or acquires skills on equipment necessary to complete required responsibilities.
    • Documents all records according to established policies and procedures.
    • Assesses information/documents and any applicable paper and/or electronic software program while maintaining patient confidentiality.
    • Assists with reviewing and updating policies and procedures.
    • Performs effectively in stressful situations to fulfill position responsibilities.
    • Performs additional duties as needed by the department.
    • Inform manager of any issues as needed.
    • Build and maintain a lead of 1.5 days at minimum.
    • Inform manager when assistance is needed in a timely manager to prevent being behind.

    Required Skills

    • Must be a Registered Nurse with an unrestricted license in the state.
    • Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing
    • Must have at least 2-5 years of Nursing experience.
    • Must have current BLS, ALS and PALS
    • Must possess a strong knowledge of surgical procedures and management of the surgical patient
    • Demonstrate clinical competency, leadership and teaching capabilities.
    • Ability to quickly adapt to changing condition of the patient when needed
    • Must be an excellent team player and have the ability to communicate with staff, patients and physicians
