    Summary: Absolute Staffers is hiring RN - Pediatrics to work for Tacoma, WA.

    • All applicants shall be fully licensed to perform Registered Nurse.
    • Must be licensed by the state of Washington.
    • Must have at least 1year or more years of experience in the specialty.
    • Must have CPR/BLS and PALS.

    Schedule:

    The work schedule (Monday – Sunday and holidays) includes shift work such as evenings, nights and/or days. A thirty (30) minute lunch break and two fifteen (15) minute breaks; (1) during the first 6 hours of the shift and (1) the last 6 hours of the end of the shift will be permissible.

    Potential shifts: Peds RN: 07:00-19:30, 07:00-15:30, 11:00- 23:30, 11:00-19:30, 19:00-03:30, 15:00-23:30, and 23:00-07:30.

    Description:

    Provide comprehensive professional nursing care to pediatric patients from ages 1 day to 18 years of age. Experience caring for postoperative patients. The RNs are responsible for pediatric patients throughout the tour of duty and have extensive knowledge and experience and have the skill for concentrated effort and self-motivation to carry out patient care requirements.

    Initiate intravenous lines as ordered and obtain blood samples for lab and chemistries and other specimens, as ordered.

    Evaluate, observe, document, and report patient signs/symptoms and response to therapy.

    Initiates infection control techniques when caring for all patients but especially for Immune-compromised.

    Monitor blood pressure, respiration, temperature, and weight.

    Set up oxygen tanks/wall oxygen and monitor patients while on oxygen.

    Insert urinary catheters using aseptic techniques.

    Perform dressing changes/minor wound care, splinting, and operate patient care equipment.

    Initiate life-saving measures in the absence of a physician to the contract employee’s level of training.

    Ensure that the rooms are cleaned and stocked between patients.

    Shall assure content and correctness of all prepared reports and shall sign the document to validate its contents.
