Robert Fresh Market is looking to hire a Full Time Payroll / Onboarding clerk.
Must have previous experience in either Payroll processing or Hiring/Onboarding.

IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Human Resources Director
CLASSIFICATION: Full-time or part-time, Hourly
JOB FUNCTION:
Computes and processes wage and salary payments and withholdings; operates and maintains electronic time clock and hand punch system; compiles, prepares and maintains payroll reports and statistics; reviews computations and corrects errors to ensure accuracy of payroll; Leads Employee Hiring Onboarding for locations and supports corporate office with clerical activities such as data entry, operating office machinery, answering telephones, and filing.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with courtesy and discretion.
- Ensure associates receive the correct amount of pay in each paycheck and that associates are paid promptly on the scheduled payday.
- Ensure payroll errors are corrected immediately.
- Prepare and distribute itemized statements of wages to associates.
- Set up direct deposit or pay card payroll plans for associates.
- Keep records of benefit deductions, personal leave pay, and 401(k) contributions.
- Operate and maintain electronic time clock and hand punch system. Troubleshoot problems and arrange for regular maintenance and repairs as needed.
- Ensure associates have correct salary or wage rate codes in the computerized payroll system.
- Update payroll records in the personnel/payroll data system.
- Answer questions about payroll matters.
- Perform routine audits of the payroll system.
- Create payroll reports and gather payroll statistics.
- Ensure stored materials are kept secure and only allow authorized personnel to access files.
- Eliminate outdated or unnecessary materials by destroying them or transferring them to inactive storage according to Robért Fresh Market’s policies and procedures and legal requirements.
- Retrieve documents and make duplications as requested.
- Regularly inspect files and filing system to ensure correct placement, legibility and proper condition.
- Act as a liaison between stores and corporate office. Gather materials to be filed from departments and associates.
- Perform general office duties such as typing, operating office machinery, answering telephones, and sorting mail.
- Keep work area clean, neat, and free of safety hazards.
- Observe all rules and policies of Robért Fresh Market, as well as all local, state, and federal regulations.
- Practice safe use of all equipment and ensure proper maintenance.
- Be responsible for replenishing maintenance equipment and office supplies. Inform management of upcoming needs and requests in a timely fashion.
- Follow all security standards and procedures.
- Perform other duties throughout the store and office as directed.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Be willing to constantly and consistently provide excellent service and be friendly, courteous and tactful when dealing with customers, vendors, and co-associates.
- Be responsible for store safety and adhere to Robért’s Commitment to Safety.
- Have basic accounting skills and be able to perform math calculations.
- Have basic computer skills and demonstrate proficiency with Windows based computers, Microsoft programs and Email.
- Competently operate office machinery, such as printers, modems, telephone systems, facsimile machines, copiers, etc.
- Have effective English language communication skills, be able to hear, speak, and understand verbal requests, and be able to read, write, and understand written communications proficiently.
- Manual dexterity and good hand-eye coordination are necessary.
- Demonstrate proficiency in the proper use of all computers, handheld devices, and mechanical equipment necessary to your job.
- Have the ability to stand and walk for five hours without a break. Be able to bend and stoop to move objects and climb ladders. Be able to lift moderate to heavy loads and to push and pull fully loaded hand trucks.
- Have transportation to travel between and spend time at several store locations as needed.
