Job Title: RVT-Hospital Supervisor
Department : Veterinary Hospital
Main function: RVT/Supervisor will be considered the supervisor of the hospital and it is considered a working position. This means they will maintain a regular presence on the floor with regularly scheduled shifts as a Registered Veterinary Technician. Supervisors will have time scheduled off the floor for administrative responsibilities as needed. Snug Animal Hospital Supervisors are expected to maintain leadership and management of staff members within their particular department and within the hospital in general. Supervisors are responsible for training and overseeing the training of staff members within their department as well as supporting a one doctor practice.
Requirements:
- Must have typing skills, Windows XP, Word, Excel, and MS Outlook.
- Knowledge in Cornerstone a plus
- Must be knowledgeable in customer service.
- Must speak and write English fluently.
- Must be a self-starter and able to motivate members within the client services department.
- Must be a good organizer and communicator.
- Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines and work to established standards of Snug Pet Resort
- Must have strong character with developed leadership skills.
- Must have pleasant disposition and friendly personality.
- Must have high degree of patience and understanding.
- Must have at least three years vet technician experience
- RVT certification required
Responsibility:
- Reporting directly to ownership in all matters relating to the daily operation of the hospital
- Dealing with client requests and complaints.
- Ensuring that the entire vet team is aware of required daily procedures.
- Communication from vet department is consistently relayed to back of the house i.e.: guest services.
- Fully supervise and control the drug log and DEA licensing.
- Control of departmental supplies and maintaining inventories.
- Evaluate and appraise your staff after as per the evaluation standards.
- Lead subordinates successfully into productive working methods by setting an example.
- Check on existing standards by asking client service employee of their opinion and suggest modifications to ownership.
- To be familiar with the employee manual and enforce all regulations.
- Deal with all client comments as quickly and professionally as possible.
- Oversee and direct two doctor practice
