Seeking a junior-level program planner/scheduler to support the U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command (USASMDC) Technical Center, Systems Engineering Directorate, Systems Integration Division in Huntsville, AL. The program planner/scheduler will assist with managing systems engineering activities, which includes tracking requirements, providing and managing schedules, and planning for the development of hardware and software products and other customer activities. In addition, the program planner/scheduler will assist in the development and maintenance of program execution and advocacy briefings and reports to internal and external organizations and will support reporting requirements.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for the development of schedule and estimate-to-complete (ETC) data for assigned tasks.
- Develops and maintains multiple project schedules
- Documents project requirements and aligns with schedule
- Develops and maintains multiple program execution and advocacy briefings and reports to internal and external organizations.
- Leads the development and maintenance of any periodic (daily, weekly, monthly) program status reports and briefings to keep management informed of project progress.
- Exercises independent and professional judgment under moderate supervision in solving scheduling problems.
- Perform other tasks as directed by management
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience working in Systems Engineering environment
Required Skills
- Must be able to effectively work within a multi-disciplined team, including users, finance, planners, and other staff in achieving results. Familiar with a variety of the field’s concepts, practices and procedures.
- Day-to-Day work requires the development of detailed schedules, status reporting, working with users, providing analysis and management of schedule change requests, presentation development, and tracking requirements.
- In-depth knowledge of MS Project implementation for large scale, multi-project programs..
- Strong oral and written communications skills.
- Demonstrated experience in using MS Office suite products (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Must demonstrate a professional demeanor in working with senior Army leadership.
Required Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree
- One year relevant experience in program planning and scheduling
- Microsoft Project experience
- Active Secret Clearance
