    Radiology/CT Technician - Riverside, CA

    Compensation: $40 to $45 / hour

    ** Overview: Nexus HR is seeking a Radiology/CT Technician to** ** plays a crucial role in performing diagnostic imaging procedures using CT equipment** ** at a well-established clinic in the Riverside, CA area.**

    About the Job:

    Hours may vary based on staffing and/or census. Number of hours, days and overall schedule changes may be made at any time for any reason without notice by Management. Twelve Hour Shifts (Alternative Work Week) are paid straight time with overtime after 40 hours in a work week and double time after 12 hrs. Three 10-minute breaks and two unpaid 30-minute lunches for all 12-hour shifts worked. The second meal period may be waived by mutual written consent of the employer and the employee. Any missed lunch periods must be approved by the manager and documented on the timesheet. Refer to the Employee Handbook for complete policy.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    Must demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively with patients, staff, employers, insurance companies, and ancillary departments and assist in patient care. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

    • Communication
    * Initiates and maintains accurate, courteous and prompt communication with patients, family, insurance carriers, medical providers and ancillary departments.
    
    * Accurately documents all communications.
    
    • HIPPA
    * All staff must maintain patient privacy in accordance with HIPPA. Please read and refer to <http://www.hhs.gov/ocr/AdminsimpRegText.pdf>
    
    • Patient Coordination

      • Take vitals and document the information.

      • Describe chief issue with patient accurately and conduct further assessments according to individual physician/provider expectation.

      • Update patient's chart and verify demographic information, medications, allergies, etc.

      • Prepare the patient and instrumentation necessary for the exam and instruct them for disrobing if necessary.

      • Maintain patient flow and assist with evaluating the needs of arriving patients or walk-ins.

    • Clinical Duties

    * Triage patients.
    
    * Assist with procedures as ordered.
    
    * Ensure efficient flow throughout patient visit.
    
    • Other Duties
    * Any other duties assigned by management.
    
    • X-Ray/CT Functions
    * Explain to the patient the procedure and ensure their understanding.
    
    * Assist the patient in preparing for the exam (positioning).
    
    * Provide reassurance and support throughout procedure.
    
    * Maintain X-Ray/CT safety protocols and standards.
    
    * Documents patient encounter and medical decision making within billing guidelines to manage medical-legal risk and maximize reimbursement.
    
    * Perform imaging tests as ordered.
    
    * Administer oral/IV Contrast as ordered
    
    * Ensure that test and imaging quality is optimal so that provider can properly make a diagnosis.
    
    * Maintain daily Radiology Log
    
    * Promotes efficient patient flow, good patient rapport and collaboration with patient care team.
    
    * May participate in other clinical or administrative duties such as patient-call backs, culture follow-ups, x-ray discrepancy follow-ups, etc.
    
    • Billing
    * Facilitate efficient billing process.
    
    • Clinic maintenance
    * Participates in ensuring that the clinic, patient care area, bathrooms and waiting room are safe and properly maintained.
    
    • Supplies
    * Participates in ensuring adequate office and medical supplies are in stock. Stock supplies as needed. All supply or medication orders must be authorized by management.
    
    • Computer, phone and fax use are for business purposes only. Personal use is prohibited unless authorized by management.

    • Use of personal cell phones during working hours is prohibited, unless it is an emergency.

    Qualifications:

    • High school diploma or equivalent

    • Current Radiology Technician Permit and ARRT Certification

    • Digital Radiography certificate

    • Typing skills and basic computer skills

    • Working knowledge of medical terminology

    • CPR Certification

    Other Preferred Skills

    • Bilingual/ Spanish Speaking

    • ACLS certified

    Physical Requirements

    • Ability to sit, stand or walk up to 12 hours a day.

    • Ability to stoop, kneel, squat frequently during the day.

    • Ability to type and write up to 12 hours a day.

    • Ability to lift, push, pull 20 pounds continuously.

    • Ability to lift, push, pull up to 60 pounds occasionally.

    • Employees will have pre-employment physicals.
