Job Description
Ralph Appelbaum Associates (RAA), the world’s largest museum planning and interpretive design firm, is offering paid internships to qualified undergraduate students, graduate students, and recent graduates for Summer 2021. Internships are open to interested persons looking to further their academic and/or career goals in museums and cultural institutions and/or related areas. Interns will gain valuable work experience and professional development in a dynamic, collaborative, and creative office environment.

Ralph Appelbaum Associates (RAA) are planners, designers, and producers of award-winning museums and educational attractions. Founded in 1978, RAA provides comprehensive services to clients with missions in the areas of public education, public-space and institutional design, and the development of new cultural centers and programs. Past projects include the Smithsonian's National Museum of African American History and Culture, the U.S. Capitol Visitor Center, the Newseum, the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum all in Washington, D.C.; the Nordic Museum, Seattle, Washington; the National Constitution Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; the William Jefferson Clinton Presidential Library in Little Rock, Arkansas; and the Canadian Museum for Human Rights, Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.
INTERNSHIP OVERVIEW:
The Exhibit Content Development Intern works under the guidance of Content staff (Developers and Coordinators) on museum projects. The Content staff focuses on the content development, organization, and interpretive planning for projects, ranging from developing the institutional vision and interpretive program, to exhibitions and public programming, among other services.
