    Job Description

    Ratchford Law Group PC, a multi-state creditor’s rights law firm. We represent lenders in a variety of consumer and commercial recovery and litigation efforts. Ratchford is headquartered in Pennsylvania and maintains offices in Massachusetts and Maine. We are seeking an associate attorney to join our office located in Danvers, Massachusetts. The attorney will attend regular court appearances, virtually and in-person. This role can be partially remote, but some level of physical presence in our Massachusetts office may be required.     POSITION SUMMARY:

    • Develop and implement litigation strategy and draft, review and file legal pleadings, motions and discovery.

    • Responsible for managing a caseload of litigated claims.

    • Advocate on behalf of client's interests.

    • Work directly with firm clients to resolve matters.

    • Attend court appearances, virtually and in-person, and conduct trials independently.

    • Work with firm paralegals to produce and respond to legal demands.

    • Comply with all client and firm operational procedures

    • REQUIREMENTS

    • JD from an ABA accredited law school

    • Membership in good standing with Massachusetts and New Hampshire Bar. Admission in Vermont is a plus.

    • If not barred in Vermont, qualified to seek admission to the State of Vermont and/or State of New Hampshire.

    • Self-directed with attention to detail and ability to manage caseload and prioritize appropriately.

    • Ability to work as a team player.

    • Excellent Oral and Written communication skills.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • 1 year litigation experience, including court appearances.
    • Working knowledge of civil procedure
    • Debt Collection experience
    • Experience in high volume litigation
    • Multi-state bar admission.

    PHYSICAL QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Be able to sit 90% of the work day at times
    • Be able to operate a computer, phone and/or equivalent devices
    • Be able to read and comprehend position-specific documents and correspondence
    • Be able to travel when needed by the most efficient means of transportation
