     SR PROJECT CONTROLS – LAKE MARY, FL OR ST. PETERSBERG, FL – LONG TERM

    ReNuke Services, Inc. is seeking a Sr. Project Controls Specialist at our client site in Florida.  This role can work from either site in Lake Mary or St. Pete, FL.  This role will start remote and eventually transition into the office full time.  This position supports areas in and St Petersburg, FL; Ocala, FL; Orlando, FL and Lake Mary, FL. Some travel to meet with leaders in the various operations centers may be required.

    JOB DESCRIPTION This Senior Project Controls Specialist position is located in Florida (St Petersburg or Lake Mary area) and reports directly to the Manager of Project Controls. We are currently seeking a Senior Project Controls Specialist who specializes in development and maintenance of resource loaded schedules using the Primavera scheduling tool. SUMMARY

    ·        Workers at this level are responsible for performing complex aspects of individual project estimating, scheduling, goal tracking and change documentation while reporting up to program or portfolio level with minimal supervision.

    ·        Workers are expected to have advanced skills and to have the ability to work independently, with guidance limited to unusual or complex projects or issues.

    ·        They are fully competent in use of project controls principles and procedures.

    ·        They identify problems, develop solutions and take actions to resolve.

    ·        This position typically is assigned to projects classified as “Green III” or "Brown" per the Project Management Center of Excellence Project Profile Matrix, or may manage multiple smaller (i.e. “Green II”) projects.

    The Senior Project Controls Specialist may have relationships with individuals of varying levels in various organizations and may interface with Project teams of external Suppliers/Vendors. Workers in this position will be responsible for preparation and maintenance of project schedules from a Level 1 summary to a work order detailed level in some cases. Will work closely with Duke Energy Resource Managers and Planners who are sourcing work through Duke crews or EPC contractors and vendors. Will review their contractor schedules for duration, resource, milestones, and logic analysis and support development of detailed earned value and project performance reports, monitor change control process, identify schedule impact of proposed changes and incorporate those impacts into the work plan and budget. Also, will provide schedule advice to project teams and assist in preparation of special cost or staffing studies and analysis as requested. Not required to be able to conduct cost control work, but must understand how schedules and schedule changes synchronize with or impact financial forecasts and budgets. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

    ·        Graduation from a four-year college or university - business, finance, project management, engineering, technical, or equivalent.

    ·        Minimum of 9 years of project controls experience in lieu of a degree.

    ·        Minimum of 5 years of project controls experience.

    ·        Proficient in project controls principles.

    ·        Proficiency / Expertise with project management / project controls concepts / computer applications / analytics; Strong collaborative team member.

    ·        Demonstrated ability to problem solve and apply logic to identify critical path, dependencies and risks associated with a project or portfolio of projects.

    ·        Ability to work with recipients of the P6 data who are at differing levels of experience and knowledge.

    ·        Strong communication skills, strong time management skills and a strong work ethic are critical for this individual to be successful.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    ·        Above average experience with Primavera 6 or higher

    ·        Above average Excel skills

    ·        Experience with Distribution or Transmission projects in a utility, or large construction projects

    ·        Working knowledge of work management software, specifically Maximo, is a plus

    ·        Masters - business, finance, project management, or equivalent. PMI or AACE certification (the following or equivalent are acceptable - PMP, CAPM, PMI-SP, AACE-CCC, AACE-PSP, AACE-CEP, AACE-EVP).

    ·        Software such as MS Project/MS Office Suite, Primavera, Business Objects, Prolog, Passport, Visio, Powerplant, Emax, PeopleSoft.

    ·        Risk management tools / Monte Carlo analysis.
