Job Summary
The RACS+ Program Coordinator (RACS+ PC) is hired by the Program Administrator in conjunction with the Executive Director (ED) and works to implement the program objectives established by the agency. The RACS+ PC is responsible for the day to day operations of the RACS+ program to ensure students receive academic support in an environment that is conducive to learning.
The RACS+ PC should have a high level of knowledge of the role and purpose of nonprofit organizations and have a clear understanding of the agency’s mission, work and understands the needs and issues of agency clients. The RACS+ PC must be able to teach and manage a classroom/educational program and be able to engage with others in a collaborative and open-minded way to ensure student success. The RACS+ PC must also be able to teach others, providing clear and understandable information to help them better perform specific tasks.
The following describes the general nature of work to be performed but is not an exhaustive list. The Board of Directors reserves the right to revise the duties and responsibilities of this position at any time at its sole discretion.
Duties and Responsibilities
a. Responsible for working closely with other staff to ensure the program is provided in an environment conducive to learning and student success.
b. Identifies and advocates for needed resources to ensure student success.
c. Ensures appropriate program operational policies and procedures are in place, reviewed at least bi-annually and updated, including child safety, client confidentiality, reward system, discipline, attendance, transportation, and others as needed.
d. Works with other staff members, social worker, and other outside mental health professionals as appropriate, for crisis intervention and behavior management.
e. Supervises volunteers and Peer Mentors including day-to-day supervision, performance appraisal
f. Works with program staff to design data collection tools and ensure accuracy in data collection. Collects student and family/caregiver data as requested by the Program Administrator and Executive Director.
g. Serves as the agency liaison with students’ parents, alternate caregivers and teachers.
h. Monitors (collects data and reports) student and volunteer schedules and attendance.
i. Responsible for providing information, and recommendations as requested, to the ED and others as directed.
j. Works to achieve annual organizational and individual goals and objectives as established by the ED.
k. Complies with the Personnel Policies and other administrative operational policies. Provides input on job descriptions for program staff.
a. Responsible for initial student intake and assessment during enrollment, including developing of individual student academic plans and continuously updating plans as needed. Ensures every student has a continuously monitored and updated academic success plan, which is communicated to the student, family, and other staff.
b. Responsible for monitoring and assessing student success including regular progress assessments using tools such as quizzes, tests, assignments, reports. Assessments should be completed weekly, monthly and quarterly and measure success based on academic plan, modifying the plan as needed.
c. Responsible for scheduling student enrichment activities, including but not limited to, student field trips.
d. Works with students’ schools to ensure coordination and student success.
e. Ensures students, families/alternative caregivers, understand the agency’s rules of student conduct, incentive/reward system and discipline plan.

a. Complies with program policies and guidelines. Reviews and follows the Employee Handbook and if additional clarification is needed, takes the initiative to ask for additional information or direction.

d. Oversees security and maintenance of the RACS+ e-learning computer lab.
e. Oversees transportation of students; establishes and communicates van routes and dispatches drivers.
f. Ensures cleanliness of the learning environment.
g. Establishes and maintains program quality and professionalism.
Education
· A Bachelor’s degree is required, preferably in Education, Early Childhood Development.
· Maintain current knowledge of recent developments in the field including local developments and national research and best practices.
· A minimum of one (1) year of experience working in a similar position.
· Computer literacy (Microsoft, Word, Excel, data base management).
· Must have social media literacy and experience.
· Demonstrated leadership and initiative in advocating for student needs.
· Able to exercise situational decision-making skills.
· Experience in writing and preparing reports is essential.
· Demonstrated dependability.
· Demonstrated ability to work with a wide range of people, developing and maintaining rapport with
the supervisor, other staff, staff at partner agencies and schools.
