We are seeking a skilled and experienced Ready Mix Truck Mechanic to join our team and ensure the proper maintenance and repair of our fleet of ready mix trucks.
Job Description:
As a Ready Mix Truck Mechanic at HRM Concrete, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining our fleet of ready mix trucks. This role requires strong technical skills, problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to safety and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on ready mix trucks, including engines, transmissions, brakes, and hydraulic systems.
Perform preventative maintenance to minimize downtime and ensure the reliability of the fleet.
Conduct routine inspections and maintenance on trucks
Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair activities, including parts used and maintenance schedules.
Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies during maintenance and repair activities.
Collaborate with drivers, dispatchers, and plant personnel to prioritize and schedule maintenance needs.
Assist with emergency repairs to minimize operational disruptions and downtime.
Maintain a clean and organized work area and ensure tools and equipment are in good working condition.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in diesel mechanics or a related field is preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of experience as a mechanic, preferably in the ready mix concrete or heavy equipment industry.
Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills.
Knowledge of ready mix trucks and plant equipment operations.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work in various weather conditions and lift heavy materials.
Valid driver’s license; CDL is a plus.
Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, late evenings, and weekends as needed.
