    POSITION: REAL ESTATE DEPUTY

    DEPARTMENT: PENN TOWNSHIP ASSESSORS (MISHAWAKA, IN)

    WORK SCHEDULE: 8:00 am to 4:30 pm Monday-Friday

    JOB CATEGORY:

    SALARY: Starting $46,000 yearly

    STATUS: FULL TIME

    FLSA STATUS: NON-EXEMPT

    Responsibilities

    Assists the public, title companies, and other governmental offices by phone and in person by answering questions, providing information, and explaining Department processes and property reassessments.

    Performs specific duties to the assessment of real property such as Sales Disclosures, reassessment of real property, mobile homes, assist with appeals, land valuation, sales comparison, and ratio study

    Answer phones, assist taxpayers, filing, scanning, sorting mail, closing window at the end of the day and other basic clerical duties.

    Qualifications

    Must have knowledge of computers and computer programs (Email, Word, Excel) and can learn computer programs specific to assessing property.

    Must be able to attain State Certification Level I and Level II within the first year.

    Must possess value driver’s license and a demonstrated safe driving record.

    Incumbent performs duties in a standard office environment, involving sitting/walking at will, sitting for long periods, lifting/carrying objects weighing up to 25 pounds, bending, reaching, keyboarding, speaking clearly, handling/grasping objects, and hearing sounds/communication.
