The Real Estate Director will lead the site selection process for Sport Clips in their respective region of support. High quality locations are critical to the success of our franchisees, and this is a key role in guiding franchisees through the site selection process. Sport Clips’ goals include opening 75 – 100 sites each year, supporting the overall goals of the company while maintaining a strategic growth strategy.
Scope:
This position will be responsible for the strategic growth strategy in the stated territory. This includes managing a strong broker network, building and maintaining strong landlord relationships, working directly with Team Leaders (Franchisees) to meet their development goals, collaborating with the Regional Directors (Operations) to proactively plan and execute annual goals and complete and update the market optimization strategy. Sport Clips is targeting opening around 75 - 100 stores each year, while ensuring that quality of sites remains top priority. The Real Estate Director position will be responsible for tracking and measuring the real estate funnel elements that drive the desires outcomes. The key funnel elements around achieving this include identifying 100+ quality real estate opportunities per year, maintaining or increasing the following conversions: 50+ sites accepted by the franchisees, 40+ approved by real estate committee, 35+ leases signed per year and maintain funnel to open 30+ stores each year. The Real Estate Director will collaborate with the Real Estate Analyst to maintain and update a dynamic market optimization strategy, while continuing to build on our strong Landlord relationships to support and drive our strategic growth strategy for their territory.
Key Criteria/Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent business experience
Three to five years franchising experience preferred
Five to ten years previous site selection and optimization experience, ideally working directly with Franchisees and brokers while building unparalleled Landlord relationships
Leadership experience leading and collaborating with teams
Demonstrated understanding of building, planning, and implementing a strong optimization growth strategy and influencing appropriate development activities
The capacity to build and maintain strong working relationships with multi-unit franchise owners
Building, maintaining, and measuring a strong broker network and Landlord relationships
Travel requirement 50% + of time
