Overview:
Slidell based professional services firm seeks an accounting assistant to perform reconciliation services and reconciliation reviews of escrow and trust accounts maintained by title agencies, attorneys, and law firms.
Duties:
- Manage assigned agents contracted with firm to reconcile their escrow trust accounts
- Perform reconciliations in several industry related software applications
- Provide statutory and industry required accounting reports for each reconciliation
- Communicate significant exceptions to agents
- Provide preventative and corrective measures for exceptions detected in the reconciliations
Requirements:
- Three years of bookkeeping and data entry experience
- Excellent math, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
- Keen attention to detail
- Strong organizational skills to maintain deadlines and process high volume
- Ability to work independently and in a team-based environment
- Proficient communication and customer service skills
Experience:
- Associates degree in accounting or bookkeeping preferred
- Previous experience performing accounting tasks such as data entry and bank reconciliations
- Previous experience with real estate settlement software, Quicken or QuickBooks
