    Job Description

    The Receiving Manager will oversee the receipt, inspection, and documentation of incoming goods, ensuring compliance with FDA regulations, HAZMAT guidelines, and customs requirements. This role demands a highly organized, analytical, and process-oriented individual with strong leadership skills and the ability to think strategically. This person ensures the working conditions are safe for all employees, while maintaining the highest of quality for outbound shipments, and driving throughput results. Also, managing, coaching and developing a staff consisting of 1 supervisor plus supporting staff of about 20 associates. This position Full time on site.

    PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Oversee the inspection of incoming shipments to verify quality and quantity against purchase orders.
    • Ensure compliance with FDA regulations, HAZMAT guidelines, and customs requirements.
    • Coordinate with suppliers, logistics providers, and internal departments to resolve any discrepancies or issues.
    • Maintain accurate records of received goods, including documentation for regulatory compliance.
    • Lead and mentor the receiving team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
    • Analyze and report on receiving metrics, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
    • Collaborate with the inventory management team to ensure seamless integration of received goods into the warehouse system.
    • Ensure the safety and security of the receiving area, adhering to all relevant health and safety regulations.
    • Ensure all receipts are properly put-away within established service guidelines
    • Follow all DDC SOPs and assist on creation of new ones as necessary
    • Ensure KPIs are reviewed and action plans are developed put in place
    • Other projects and tasks as assigned
    • Working closely with engineering team and Director of Ops on driving productivity improvement plans / continuous monitoring of work standards and creation of new standards as needed
    • Maintain cross training record of all personnel in all functions

    • Lead, mentor, and develop supervisor who directly reports into this role and hourly associates

  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
    • 5-7 years of experience in a related role in a Distribution Center
    • Strong knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS, preferably with Manhattan Associates).
    • Spanish speaking is a plus
    • Strong communication skills both oral and written required. Must be able to always maintain a positive and professional attitude.
    • Ability to coach and develop management staff and to deal with difficult conversations.
    • Understanding and driving a culture of continuous improvement using metrics and visual management.
    • Work requires significant attention to detail in safety, recording, logging, and inspecting.
    • Must have demonstrated ability to use a variety of computer software applications including word processing, spreadsheets, email, and internet.
