    Job Summary:

    We are seeking a compassionate and organized Mental Health Receptionist to join our team. As the first point of contact for clients and visitors, you will play a key role in creating a welcoming and supportive environment. The ideal candidate is professional, empathetic, and able to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and discretion.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Greet clients and visitors with warmth and professionalism.

    Schedule, confirm, and manage appointments using scheduling software.

    Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries, directing calls as needed.

    Collect and verify patient information, including insurance and billing details.

    Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in electronic medical systems (EMR/EHR).

    Process intake forms and assist with new client registration.

    Ensure the reception area is clean, organized, and calming.

    Handle administrative tasks such as filing, scanning, and faxing documents.

    Communicate effectively with mental health providers and support staff.

    Maintain strict confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and other privacy standards.

    Provide support for clients who may be experiencing emotional distress or crisis, using de-escalation techniques as appropriate.

    Qualifications:

    High school diploma or equivalent (required); associate’s degree or higher (preferred).

    Previous experience in a medical or mental health office (preferred).

    Proficiency in office software and electronic health record systems.

    Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

    Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

    Ability to manage stressful situations with empathy and professionalism.

    Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and confidentiality practices.

    Work Environment:

    Professional mental health clinic or private practice.

    Regular interaction with individuals experiencing emotional or psychological distress.
