    Job Description

    POSITION OVERVIEW:

    Recovery Centers of America is dedicated to saving 1 million lives from the disease of addiction.     A key part of the RCA mission is to provide an active, supportive alumni association to all RCA patients to participate in. The alumni association is part of the larger RCA marketing team, based out of King of Prussia, PA.

    Reporting to the Director of Alumni Relations, the Alumni Relations Coordinator will be located full time at the RCA at Danvers facility and will advance the mission, strategic goals and priorities of the RCA Alumni Relations program through the development, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of alumni activities, programs, events and meetings. These measured efforts will enhance RCA's success in creating affinity and referrals with alumni, families, patients, staff, and friends to strengthen life-changing relationships, as well as enhancing the recovery experience so alumni can live life to its fullest and stay committed to recovery.

    The Alumni Relations Coordinator will establish and work with the RCA Danvers alumni chapter to create, manage, attend, and implement engagement programs, activities, meetings, and events at RCA Danvers and outside for alumni, families, and friends; partner with volunteers to give back to the recovery community, patients and others; collect testimonials and reviews to highlight RCA's services; check-in and support alumni, and provide alumni and families with the inspiration, support and resources they need to succeed in long-term recovery. This position will represent Alumni Relations and the Alumni Association at Danvers and at surrounding community events, trainings, and gatherings as necessary.

    SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Introduces the alumni association to all individuals and families when they are at RCA at Danvers for treatment, utilizing in-person presentations with the goal to grow meaningful, purposeful, and relevant membership in the alumni association.
    • Visibly exhibits alumni association information on-site throughout the week and manages alumni association information displays at the site for both inpatient and outpatient patients.
    • Ensure all patients pre-discharge have consented to communications from the alumni association, have shared their contact information and have all the details on meetings, events, etc. to jump right into participating
    • Organizes meetings with patients and alumni to discuss and roll out volunteer opportunities.
    • Organizes on-site and off-site events with alumni to help form connections among alumni, support recovery and remain connectivity between alumni and RCA
    • Makes well-being check calls and texts to discharged alumni on a prescribed, regular basis
    • Works with the Alumni Relations Coordinator at King of Prussia to ensure communications out to all alumni are accurate, well written and timely. Also, contributes to new content such as blog articles, testimonials, etc.
    • Leads alumni-sponsored events at Danvers to get patients interested in the alumni program, as well as to introduce alumni to patients and vice versa to establish new connections.
    • Leads and hosts virtual meetings with alumni on a regular basis
    • Participates in the promotion, attraction, and implementation of community 12-step and recovery-centric meetings within the geographic area of the site
    • Executes signature events for Danvers (ex. Alumni & Family Weekend, Weekly Alumni Meetings, patient Healthy Distraction Series, etc....)
    • Participates in volunteer calls and meetings throughout the year.
    • Assists with 'alumni to patient' connections and 'alumni to alumni' connections
    • Maintains regular communication with regional alumni, families, and friends through a variety of relevant channels.
    • Assists in the development of innovative and interactive volunteer information and training programs to create a seamless and effective referral system (alumni and family ambassadors).
    • Other duties, to be assigned
    • Must be willing to work evenings and weekends on a regular basis

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

    • Bachelor's Degree in the fields of Social Work, Public Administration, Customer Relations Management, Higher Education Administration, Human Services or Social Services preferred.
    • At least 1 year of experience in volunteer management, program administration, special events, engagement or related field, ideally within addiction treatment.
    • An equivalent amount of education and experience may be considered.

    • Proven experience building and fostering formal and informal relationships within, across, and external to organizational boundaries.
    • A people person who enjoys connecting with others, building others up and seeing others succeed.
    • Demonstrated organizational and problem-solving skills; ability to set priorities and manage several projects at once with minimal supervision.
    • Possesses an ability to motivate and work with volunteers and diverse constituencies in and out of RCA
    • Must be well organized, able to work on multiple initiatives simultaneously, possess creativity and be able to "think outside the box."
    • Must be able to use Microsoft Windows software (Office, Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint), social media and mobile technology.
    • Familiar with/ability to learn Salesforce, CVENT, EZ Texting.
    • Demonstrated strong verbal, written, interpersonal and presentation skills.
    • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines is a must.
    • Ability to work in a team environment with diverse groups of providers, staff, alumni, and families a must.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT: May work in a variety of environments including professional offices, event spaces, treatment or out-patient facilities. Routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and mobile devices. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision and the ability to adjust focus.

    TRAVEL: Local and overnight travel is required, depending on the COVID-19 pandemic state. Must be flexible, willing to work evenings, weekends and holidays, and travel as needed.
