The Recovery Coach is a member of the multidisciplinary team at the Community Behavioral Health Center (CBHC).
The CBHC service delivery model provides access to comprehensive and integrated client-centered care using evidence-based practice and assessment for the community and identified populations. The Recovery Coach provides support to CBHC clients by encouraging them to work towards their recovery and health goals, participate in recovery-oriented activities, and develop a network of sober supports. The team supporting the Recovery Coach role includes Behavioral Health Clinicians, Client Navigators, and Medical Professionals, both internal and external, to ensure access to medication-assisted therapy and primary care services.
**Responsibilities: **
Provide peer counseling and support, drawing on lived experience as a peer, to validate clients’ experiences and to provide guidance and encouragement to clients to actively participate in their own recovery.
Provide mentorship, outreach services, and education to clients with substance use disorder.
Collaborate with the team to promote a team culture in which each clients’ point of view, experiences, and preferences are recognized, understood, and respected, and in which client self-determination and decision-making in treatment planning are maximized and supported.
Address barriers to successful recovery and serve as a role model and advocate
Provide information and assist with connection to community-based services, resources, and peer support networks.
Serve as a liaison between the recovery community, the addiction treatment system, the medical treatment system, and the client’s community, family, and social context to facilitate connections across systems of care
Work collaboratively with treatment team and collateral contacts to coordinate and implement services
Promote engagement with therapy, medical appointments, and other wellness services
Maintain timely records of all patient encounters in EMR system in accordance with state and federal confidentiality laws
Attend treatment team meetings, individual supervision, and trainings/workshops as appropriate
Follow the Organization’s/department policies regarding professional ethics and confidentiality.
Maintain appropriate relationships with clients and/or staff as observed by management and feedback received from staff/clients.
Maintain confidentiality of all clients, employees, proprietary information about the Organization and/or any other information which is deemed confidential as observed by management
Follow the Agency’s and department specific policies and procedures.
Actively Participate in the Agency’s Quality Initiatives
**Requirements : **
High School Diploma or equivalent
Completed training as a Recovery Coach, including ethics training ****required
Certified Addictions Recovery Coach (CARC), or willing to obtain certification within six months of hire
Candidate who identifies as being in recovery from a substance use disorder and is willing to share details of his or her personal recovery experience
Minimum two years of sustained sobriety
Enthusiastic about providing support to clients in early recovery from a substance use disorder and is open to multiple pathways of recovery from substance use
Ability to work flexibly and collaboratively with multi-disciplinary team
Computer proficiency
Valid driver’s license, access to personal vehicle, and good driving record **required **
