Job Summary
The Recovery Coach facilitates individual coaching sessions, support groups, and organizes social activities and workshops for members of Foundation for Recovery's community recovery center. In this role, you will be trained to facilitate several types of support groups for members of our program. Through these support meetings, you will used your lived experience and training to support members in identifying and developing plans to meet their whole health and recovery goals and advocate for their success. You will provide individualized coaching to members of the program, offering support, warm linkages to other services in our community, offer encouragement, motivation, and hospitality. The Recovery Coaches work alongside other members of our Recovery Support Service team to run the daily operations of the community recovery center, provide support to our members and patrons of the center, supervise and lead daily activities and programming, and provide general clerical support. This position requires completion of a Peer Recovery Support Specialist training, approved by the Nevada Certification Board. Applicants must hold a PRSS-I or CPRSS credential through the Nevada Certification Board.

Ability to work a 12-8 p.m. evening schedule and Saturdays.
Education: Minimum of a High School Diploma or Equivalent
Education: Completion of a Peer Support Specialist Training approved by the Nevada Certification Board
2 years of prior experience with standard office practices and procedures, including office etiquette, records management and use of case management or electronic health record system, and using computer programs such as Microsoft Office or Google Workspace.
2 years of customer service experience
2 years of experience working with people with behavioral health disorders and individuals from various socio-economic, ethnic, and cultural backgrounds
1-2 years of experience using electronic health records or case management database
Must understand and adhere to the Nevada Certification Board's code of ethics for Peer Recovery Support Specialists, federal and state confidentiality laws and regulations, and Nevada mandatory reporting laws and regulations
Preferred Qualifications
Spanish Speaking Skills Preferred
Certified as a Peer Recovery Support Specialist by the Nevada Certification Board
1-2 years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Continuing education or training in harm reduction, trauma-informed care, peer support ethics, confidentiality, motivational interviewing, suicide prevention, mandatory reporting, or others.
Prior experience facilitating support groups, group activities, trainings, and/or workshops.
Prior experience working in an office-based setting, non-profit, or community-based organization.
Prior experience working with state and federal grants.
Essential Functions
Manage incoming requests and inbound referrals to the recovery community center, including calls, emails, pre-enrollment submissions, and walk-ins.
Completes various assessments, surveys, interviews, and other data collection methods to track outcomes of members for grantors, management, and community partners.
Educate participants about membership to the community recovery center and programs available at the Foundation, other treatment and recovery options, harm reduction tools and strategies, and local resources.
Manages front desk and flow of participants between workers
Data entry and recording in case management system
Coordinate ancillary services for members such as: transportation assistance, vocational training, stable and secure living environments, and other recovery support services, as identified by members
Be the key to health activation by listening to the needs, fears, and goals of our members and educating members on how to access and engage in the health system
Facilitate whole health and recovery support groups, maintaining fidelity of the curriculum and program
Support members with identifying whole health and recovery goals and developing plans to achieve those goals
Support members with the planning of their recovery program, and provide motivation to assist members with completion of the program
Provide individualized support, empowerment, and encouragement to members through coaching and everyday interactions
Offer recovery management strategies and tools; like journaling, breathing and mindfulness techniques, among others
Offer harm reduction strategies and tools; like Narcan, fentanyl test strips, safer use
Listen to members' barriers; offering assistance to remove barriers through linkages to resources and other programs at Foundation for Recovery - or just to listen and provide understanding and empathy
Share and model personal resilience and recovery experiences, when appropriate, acting as a role model for members
Provide regular communication to members through phone, text, and in-person follow-ups and check-ins
Maintain clear and concise documentation using the organization's case management software
Complete all necessary data collection, reporting, and documentation related to the program requirements
Prepare program, grant, and caseload reports as needed
Understand and adhere to all state and federal confidentiality laws and regulations
Ability to become certified as a Peer Recovery Support Specialist upon hire through Nevada Certification Board
Other duties as assigned
Work Environment
Our employees work in a supportive and collaborative office environment. This position is full-time and based in Las Vegas at Foundation for Recovery’s recovery community center. Foundation for Recovery will provide all the tools necessary to perform the duties of the position.
Physical Demands
Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Repetitive motion. Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.

Full-time hourly, non-exempt employee
Fringe benefits, including health, vision, and dental insurance available after 90 days of employment.
Salary Range: $17 - $20 per hour commensurate with experience
