Purpose of Position
We are looking for a Recovery Housing Coordinator to contribute to our substance abuse treatment and rehabilitation efforts at our recovery house. Our ideal candidate works to foster an inclusive, respectful community that promotes personal growth and recovery with a special focus on the unique needs of LGBTQIA individuals. We are also seeking a Housing Coordinator who can effectively command respect, enforce the house rules, and provide the structure and safety necessary for individuals with substance use disorders to overcome their dependency and progress toward recovery.
Hours
Rotating evenings and nights; set schedule; shifts include 12am-9am, 4pm-12am and 12pm-12am
Key Functions
o Overseeing day-to-day operations of the recovery house with at least 8-10 clients
o Enforce house rules, including no drugs/alcohol and curfew
o Ensure a safe, structured, and supportive environment for all clients
o Ensure all supplies needed to operate and run the house daily are available
o Make sure the interior and exterior of the house are always clean and well- maintained
o Maintaining inventory of all furnishings and equipment in the house, including replacements when needed.
o Supervise client's chores/house duties and medication in-take
o Assisting clients with time management for group, appointments, grocery shopping, work, etc.
o Coordinating with other house managers to ensure smooth operations and progress daily
Qualifications
Education:
o HS Diploma/GED
Experience:
o Documented experience of at least one year working with the population served (LBGTQIA+) o Managerial experience of at least one year o Administering medication for at least one year
Training:
o Medical Technician Certification (Required)
o CPR/First Aid (Required)
Requirements:
o Ability to arrive on time for all scheduled shifts from start to end and be fully prepared to begin work at the designated start time.
o Maintain a professional demeanor and image in all situations, including but not limited to person served and staff relationships, verbal communications, and attire.
o Maintain a positive and respectful attitude towards all clients and staff
o Great communication skills and the ability to understand the client’s likes and dislikes
o Ability to be efficient, discreet, and organized
o Must be knowledgeable of HIPAA and always operate under HIPAA guidelines.
