Job Overview
The Recruiter/Retention role involves designing and executing tailored recruitment strategies to meet the unique needs of a specialized field, building partnerships with community organizations, and fostering a supportive work environment. By integrating talent acquisition with robust employee engagement programs, the specialist ensures consistent staffing levels, employee satisfaction, and alignment with organizational and state service standards.
Key Responsibilities
Recruitment:
- Develop and implement innovative recruitment strategies to attract highly qualified candidates for direct support roles, case managers, and other critical positions.
- Build relationships with local educational institutions, community organizations, and online platforms to create a talent pipeline.
- Manage the full recruitment cycle, including job postings, candidate screenings, interviews, and reference checks.
- Conduct onboarding processes to ensure new hires align with organizational values and job expectations.
Retention:
- Monitor employee satisfaction through surveys, focus groups, and feedback mechanisms to identify areas for improvement.
- Develop and implement retention strategies, such as professional development opportunities, recognition programs, and team-building initiatives.
- Coordinate with supervisors to address workforce challenges and ensure a supportive working environment.
- Track employee turnover rates and analyze trends to recommend actionable improvements.
Administrative Duties:
- Maintain accurate records of recruitment and retention activities, including applicant tracking and employee engagement metrics.
- Prepare reports for leadership on recruitment outcomes and retention strategies.
- Stay informed about industry trends and best practices for recruiting and retaining human service professionals.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Social Work, or related field.
- 2+ years of experience in recruitment, retention, or human services.
- Strong understanding of the needs and challenges within the developmental disabilities sector.
- Proficiency in recruitment software and HRIS systems.

Salary: $47,000 to $52,000 per year
