We are currently seeking a Engineering Technician to support our customer in a Vertical Launch System (VLS) In-Service Engineering Agent (ISEA) Specialist role. The duties include Limited use and/or application of basic principles, theories, and concepts. Limited knowledge of industry practices and standards. Solves routine problems of limited scope and complexity following established policies and procedures. Work is closely supervised. Follows specific detailed instructions.
EXPERIENCE:
Highly preferred United States Navy ratings are as follows in priority order:
REQUIRED SKILLS: The candidate must be able to work in a shipyard industrial environment, able to traverse ladders and stairwells onboard ships and in dry docks. Applicant needs to be able to lift up to 45 pounds (need to confirm with OSHA requirements) of test equipment (note: The heaviest missile simulator weighs about 60 pounds, and handled as a two-person carry when transporting it from pier-side to the VLS launcher).
EDUCATION: When hired, the candidate must successfully pass the 10-week VLS In-Service Engineering Agent (ISEA)/Fleet Service Representative (FSR) course, complete the VLS Personnel Certification Program, and obtain System Maintenance Certification (SMT) as a condition to continued employment.
PREFERRED USN CERTIFICATIONS:
SECRET SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIRED, U.S. PASSPORT FOR OCONUS ASSIGNMENTS, VALID DRIVER’S LICENSE FOR OUT-OF-TOWN ASSIGNMENTS.
