Position Overview: We are seeking a Referral Coordinator/Medical Receptionist to join our team. This role is critical in ensuring smooth office operations, managing referrals, and providing excellent customer service to patients and healthcare professionals. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and experienced in medical office processes, including referral coordination, scheduling, and communication with patients.

Responsibilities:

Coordinate and process incoming referrals, ensuring timely scheduling and follow-up.

Obtain and organize consult notes and medical records from specialists.

Serve as the primary liaison between patients, providers, and external offices for referrals.

Manage front office operations, including answering and directing phone calls.

Greet and assist patients with professionalism and care.

Schedule appointments and manage patient inquiries effectively.

Maintain accurate records, data entry, and adhere to confidentiality policies.

Ensure compliance with HIPAA and other regulatory requirements.

Requirements:

Minimum 2 years of experience in a medical office setting.

At least 1 year of experience in referral coordination or handling incoming referrals.

Able to effectively communicate with diverse patient populations.

High school diploma or GED required.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Proficient in computer systems and data entry (experience with EMR systems preferred).

Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with professionalism.
