The Regional Business Developer plays a critical role in expanding the organization's footprint by developing and strengthening referral relationships, supporting liaisons, and driving census growth. This position is responsible for managing and mentoring the business development team, ensuring they have the tools, strategies, and training needed to successfully secure and grow referral sources. The ideal candidate is a dynamic leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has a deep understanding of the skilled nursing industry, healthcare business development, and strategic sales growth.
This role will manage a territory in Southern Illinois and oversee a team of approximately five liaisons/marketers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute strategic plans to grow referrals from hospitals, physician groups, home health agencies, and other key sources.
- Lead, manage, and mentor the team of liaisons, ensuring they are effectively identifying and nurturing referral relationships.
- Provide training, coaching, and upskilling opportunities to improve the team's performance and business development skills.
- Analyze market trends, competitor strategies, and referral data to refine outreach efforts and maximize results.
- Build and maintain relationships with key decision-makers in hospitals, rehabilitation centers, and senior care organizations.
- Partner with facility leadership to align business development efforts with operational goals and patient care objectives.
- Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to census growth, referral partnerships, and liaison effectiveness.
- Identify new business opportunities and markets to expand the organization's referral network.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and company policies related to business development practices.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in healthcare business development, preferably within skilled nursing, long-term care, or post-acute settings.
- Proven experience leading and managing business development teams, with a focus on mentoring and training.
- Strong understanding of the skilled nursing facility landscape, including referral networks and competitive positioning.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and execute sales and marketing strategies that drive growth.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to analyze data, assess market trends, and adjust strategies accordingly.
- Bachelor's degree in business, healthcare administration, or a related field preferred.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
Compensation:
- Base Salary: $120,000
- Bonuses: Performance-based incentives tied to census growth, referral source expansion, and overall business development success.
