    Essential Functions (Responsibilities):

    • Regulatory, Safety and Compliance engineer for all Savant Power product lines
    • Develop product line expertise and support all functions with that expertise including Energy Storage, Inverters, Electrical Panels/Breakers, Power Modules, EV Chargers and Other Power technologies (as needed)
    • Primary interface with 3rd Party regulation agencies
      • US Department of Energy (DOE)
      • US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)
      • US Federal Communications Commission (FCC)
      • California Energy Commission (CEC)
      • US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC)
      • Health Canada
      • Natural Resources Canada (NRCAN)
      • Statewide authorities having jurisdiction (AHJs)
      • Utility Groups/Associations
    • Primary interface with 3rd Party standards and industry associations
      • National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA)
      • National Fire Protection Association (NFPA)(NEC)
      • Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE)
      • Underwriters Laboratories (UL)/Intertek (ETL)
      • IEC International Standards (as needed)
      • Consumer Technology Association (CTA)
    • Industry Engagement: Develop in-depth industry partnerships and relationships with external associations within our business applications and hold leadership positions and seats on working groups as appropriate.
    • Utility relations: interface in understanding product specifications, certifications, testing/pilot programs, rebates and incentives.
    • Provide Standards Interpretation: Interpret and apply complex standards and codes to our power systems' design, installation, and testing requirements.
    • Compliance Management: Assist in the overall compliance process, ensuring our power systems adhere to relevant UL, IEEE and NEC, and other applicable industry standards and regulations. Support Intellectual Property, legal, standards, regulations, and third-party certification activities (i.e., UL, CEC, SHEMS, etc.) as appropriate.
    • Regulatory Updates: Stay up to date with changes in industry standards, codes, and regulations, and implement necessary updates to our products and processes.
    • Risk Assessment: Identify potential compliance risks and work with cross-functional teams to implement mitigation strategies.
    • Oversee/Approval of Testing and Certification: Provide ongoing review of design requirements, validation, testing reports, risk assessments and documentation.

    Preferred Qualifications / Requirements:

    • BS or MS degree in Physics/ Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or closely related field with a minimum of 7+ years post degree experience in battery, inverter or energy storage field.
    • Individual must be a self-starter, able to multitask effectively and meet deliverables consistently.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to communicate effectively across organizational lines.
    • Detail oriented
    • Demonstrated effective team player skills.
    • Demonstrated ability to work without boundaries to accomplish critical tasks.
    • Knowledge of Six Sigma methodology and tools with the ability to applying to a project.

    Desired Qualifications:

    • Experience working in a power electronics laboratory is a plus
    • Experience working with utilities on incentive programs is a plus

    Additional Information

    Compensation:

    The U.S. base salary range for this position is $130,000 – $150,000. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, education or training, work location, and market conditions.
