Today we are hiring a Remote, Sales Representative / Territory Manager for our client in the following locations for the North E. Territory.
Desired Home-base should be: Philly or Baltimore.
The Sales territories are: PA, NJ, MD, N.VA and Delaware.
The Ideal Candidate
5+ years selling to the construction/ building and or electrical contractor industry in the residential and / or light commercial building market. Experience selling electrical-related items. Ability to learn the product (s) and to communicate a value proposition to customers and potential customers. Self-directed and a go-getter. Professional. Good analytical skills. Someone who has been an electrician, inspector, foreman or other role who has moved into sales in the field of electrical related items is the ideal candidate. Someone with a book of business with electrical contractors and builders as their customers.
Sales Rep must have some experience selling to residential electrical contractors and builders/developers (they must have a residential book of business they can call upon to plug and play). Those selling to industrial customers are not a fit unless they have recent previous experience in the above required customer base. Must have direct to customer sales experience. Those selling to distributors only will not be a fit.
Experience selling products that provide electrical wiring / wire knowledge is a must. Candidates must be able to have the discussions with builders and contractors and inspectors and be knowledgeable enough to understand proper application of product, code compliance, and sell the advantages of the company's product. Examples of some related products that might be applicable (connectors, alarm systems, lighting, wire, wiring support product. Key is to be a product that requires wiring so that they have a strong knowledge of wiring, code, etc....items that are hard wired could work if it has been long enough and the depth is enough to provide the knowledge of wire and wire applications...wire / cable sales specifically is better ). The key is to be very knowledgeable of wiring / wire / electrical.
Roles and Responsibilities are as follows:
1. Exceed sales goals.
2. Connect and develop relationships with electricians, builders, and electrical inspectors within respective territory.
3. Develop territory plan that includes face-to-face meetings with all relevant decisions makers (Electrician, Builder, Inspector),
4. Join and attend local trade associations, trade shows, conventions, etc.
4. Serve as brand ambassador within respective territory.
Experience:
- 5+ years of sales experience within defined territory (not all states required but must have experience selling to multiple states within the defined territory).
This client is looking for professional demeanor and someone who can represent the company in a polished and professional manner. This is a must.
Book of business in the residential side
Experience selling products that give them knowledge of target market and knowledge of electrical / wire.
Base salary plus uncapped commission. Vehicle mileage and phone allowance.
