We are currently in the process of launching a full-fledged Arts Program as we look toward our busy and bright future. This position provides the opportunity for the organized art lover to bring the varied and complex elements of the Airport's Art Master Plan to life. In this position you will support and champion all aspects of the Art Program: you'll curate, coordinate, organize, and support all things ART and have the opportunity to work on a number of different projects to help the Arts Program at RNO and Reno-Stead Airport (RTS) come to life.

    Under administrative direction from the Manager of Community Relations & Cultural Engagement, the Art Administrator utilizes organizational skills and attention to detail to assist with supporting, furthering, and maintaining the RTAA's Art Program. Using the Art Master Plan as a guide, this position works to execute initiatives, exhibits, and programs in the visual and performing arts for the benefit of the RTAA and the traveling public.

    There is one (1) part-time position available. Schedule varies depending on projects, so occasional assistance with evening or weekend special events requiring additional staff may be needed. Position is expected to typically work 20 hours per week and up to 39 hours per week during peak times.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Provide organizational, administrative, and on-site support for art exhibitions, programs, and social events at both Reno-Tahoe International and Reno-Stead Airports.
    • Assist with the Art Advisory Committee: provide communication regarding meetings, prepare correspondence and meeting materials; answer questions and provide general support.
    • Guide the 1% allocation for public art from MoreRNO projects spanning 10 years through sight selections and RFQ solicitations.
    • Maintain compliance with FAA regulations for art funding and AIP/CIP project requirements.
    • Apply for grants for non-CIP funded airport construction projects.
    • Help coordinate visual and performing arts programs.
    • Assist in scheduling and promoting rotating exhibits, including curating the grant-funded Employee Art Show
    • Liaise with art organizations in the planning and execution of art exhibitions in the depARTures Gallery and maintain its daily operations.
    • Provide insight and support to the airport's upcoming public art projects as part of the MoreRNO construction.
    • Perform general departmental duties, such as preparation of program materials, research, correspondence, filing and scheduling.
    • Follow the guiding principles of the airport's art program that includes celebrating diversity and inclusion through all forms of art.

    • Ability to identify problems, consult with appropriate staff, research circumstances, create alternatives and develop a recommended course of action to resolve the issue.

    Salary : $22.84 – $28.78 per hour with opportunity for annual merit-based increases up to a range maximum of $34.72. This is an hourly position and is eligible for overtime.

    Benefits: The RTAA offers a competitive wage and benefit package and provides a high-quality work-life balance. Employee benefits include Health insurance premiums paid by the RTAA at 50% for part-time employees who elect RTAA coverage and also at 50% for their covered, eligible dependents.     Minimum Qualifications:

    Required Education: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in art management, graphic design, marketing, communications, or a closely related field, o r equivalent combination of experience and training. Required Experience: One (1) year of experience in supporting art programs, or programs of a similar complex and multi-dimensional nature.

    Required Licenses: A valid Driver's License is required at the time of application.
