    Renovations technician is a skilled construction professional responsible for managing and executing various renovation projects on residential apartment homes or ARTISAN commercial properties, including tasks like assessing project needs, coordinating with construction management and Community Managers, installation of new finishes like flooring, cabinetry, and drywall, ensuring ARTISAN quality standards are met, and completing projects within budget and timeline. The Renovation Technician is responsible for ensuring that scheduled vacated apartments are safely and thoroughly updated to "ARTISAN Renovation" status according to the VP of Construction and Community manager's timetable. Will be required to perform work orders, as assigned.

    PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

    • · Understand and follow written policy.
    • · Working under direction of Maintenance Supervisor(s) and Community Manager(s).
    • · Site preparation: ensure site is ready for work, including debris removal and protection of existing surfaces.
    • · Construction execution: installation of new finishes like flooring, cabinetry, countertops, and lighting fixtures.
    • · Complete general service requests assigned by supervisors for repairs and preventative maintenance items.
    • · Maintain property owned equipment and tools and ensure they are properly secured after each use.
    • · Ensure all work areas are secured per policy when they are not occupied.
    • · Complete service requests assigned for vacant units (make ready).

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS OF THE POSITION

    The Renovation Technician will be exposed to the constant activity that requires intermittent standing, bending, crouching, pushing / pulling, lifting / moving / carrying light and heavy loads, climbing stairs and ladders. The Renovation Technician should have a working knowledge of OSHA and follow any guidelines set forth to protect the health of the maintenance team, the community, its residents, and oneself.

    REQUIREMENTS FOR RENOVATION TECHNICIAN

    • · High school diploma or equivalent.
    • · Thorough understanding of various construction methods, building codes, and materials
    • · Proficiency in basic carpentry tasks like framing, trim installation, and cabinetry installation
    • · Basic electrical, plumbing, appliance and building/apartment maintenance and repair.
    • · Basic understanding of electrical, hydraulic, and other systems.
    • · General knowledge of maintenance processes and methods.
    • · Working knowledge of tools, common appliances, and devices.
    • · Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, meet deadlines, and stay within budget
    • · Basic computer proficiency preferred.
