  • Responsibilities

    Thompson First Group is seeking a Repair Technician for a direct hire position with a local client in Dallas, TX.

    Candidates that have a background performing troubleshooting, repair and replacement on electrical and mechanical equipment are encouraged to apply. 

    Responsibilities

    • Troubleshooting and diagnosis of the appliances sent in.
    • Replacement or repair of defective components.
    • Functional safety checks and quality control.
    • Cleaning of the appliances as part of the repair service with the aim to improve customer
    • satisfaction
    • Packing and unpacking of units
    • Maintaining an accurate and complete record of all repairs made and parts utilised in various
    • software systems
    • Picking of parts for repair orders
    • Movement and picking of stock within the warehouse
    • Upholding a spotless and well-organized working environment

    Education and/or Experience

    • A minimum of 1-1.5 years relevant experience and/or a certification/diploma in a technical related field (E.g. electronics, mechanical, maintenance)
    • Ability to read and interpret documents such as operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals in English.
    • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence and effectively share information in one-on- one and small group situations with other employees of the organization in English
    • Basic knowledge of a cloud-based ERP system (SAP or similar)
    • Hands-on repair experience of electronic consumer appliances
    • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office
    • Fluent English in speaking and writing
    • Knowledge and experience of software and hardware repairs

    Key Challenges

    • Priorities are often changing quickly as various projects are implemented. Must be able to manage multiple tasks under strict deadlines.
    • With the Repair and Facilities Manager not being physically at the warehouse location, this position must work to proactively communicate and address issues, provide feedback, and discuss solutions with team members via phone, email, and video conferencing.
