We currently own and operate 5 successful establishments: Calypso Bar and Grill, Repeal Bourbon and Burgers, 3 Hair of the Dog Eatery’s (Downtown Granby, Hampton BLVD across from ODU and Loehmann’s Plaza in Virginia Beach)
Our Barbacks are the right hands to our bartenders. They ensure our bar(s) and service areas are clean, sanitized, stocked and visually appealing. They assist our bartenders in clearing the bar top, cleaning/sanitizing the barware, and restocking glassware and plate ware. In addition, they change out kegs as needed, maintain liquor stock levels, stock and rotate bottle beer to keep things fresh!
Qualifications
•Enjoy interacting and connecting with guests
•Are a “Team Player”, considerate to the experience of all guests, as well as the experience of your fellow employees
•Have strong communication skills, as well as the ability to multitask
•Understand “Genuine” hospitality
•Ideally have experience in a high-volume, full-service bar setting
•Ideally have TIPs alcohol procedures certification, alongside any State or County required license requirements for the service of food and alcohol
•Have a basic knowledge of drink recipes and standard bar equipment uses
Responsibilities
•Restocking product behind the bar (bottle beer & liquor) and changes kegs as needed
•Maintaining the Keg Room and liquor storage areas
•Bussing the bar and associated tables (clearing plates, cups, glassware and condiments etc.)
•Resetting the bar / tables to standard
•Assisting Bartenders with bar Service Steps (such as providing bread and water refills to guests)
•Following up with guest requests, either directly or via the assigned Bartender / Server
•Assisting Bartenders in maintenance and cleaning of service utensils and service equipment
•Interacting with guests
•Adhering to all local and state laws regarding the service of alcohol and food; including Steps of Service and alcohol service standards
•Ensuring that bar stations / areas are kept stocked and are maintained in an organized, clean and sanitary manner
•Completing general tasks to ensure the efficient flow of service at the bar, for example, restocking ice bins, replenishing stations with clean glassware and emptying trash cans
•Ensuring that all set-up and break-down tasks are completed to standard
