Laundry Services Technician Serves to provide for the safe operation of the Rescue Mission’s laundry services ministry, which operates 365 days a year. Supports the laundry needs of the Shelters and Kitchen. Assist the Shelter Supervisors in the shelter as needed.

Reports to: Facilities Administrator

Hours of Availability:

Part - Time Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday 6:30pm – 3am; weekends & holidays as scheduled

Compensation: Starting at $15.45/hour (non-exempt/hourly)

· Demonstrated attention to detail/strong organizational skills to assist with multiple daily assignments and special projects.

Job Specific Qualifications:

· Ability to learn and operate commercial washer and dryer equipment

· Ability to organize and complete assigned tasks in a timely manner

· Direct volunteers in assisting the completion of assigned tasks

· Willingness to work in the shelter as needed

· Available to attend shelter meetings as scheduled

All Rescue Mission of Roanoke team members may be asked to complete other duties as assigned by the Facilities Administrator or the Mission Leadership team.

Career Summary (may include other duties as assigned)

Laundry Services Technicians provide laundry services for guests, participants, the shelters, and kitchen services. They inspect laundry area and equipment for proper usage. Distribute completed laundry to appropriate persons/areas. Supervise volunteers with instructions and support.

Responsible for the safety and security of the laundry area to include equipment and personal belongings.

All Rescue Mission of Roanoke team members may be asked to complete other duties as assigned by the Facilities Administrator or the Mission Leadership team.
