    The WCC Supervisor is a minister to families and women in crisis who seek shelter at the Rescue Mission. She represents the Rescue Mission in the spirit of Christ as an encourager while facilitating families and women to move on to productive and independent living. The WCC Supervisor is guided by the Rescue Mission’s Mission Statement and the policies of the WCC and reports to the WCC Manager.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    1. Evidence of positive Christian Witness and lifestyle as referenced in the lifestyle covenant.

    2. Patient and compassionate attitude

    3. Strong organizational skills

    4. Strong oral, verbal, and written communication skills

    5. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, email, use of the internet, basic grammar and spelling

    6. Ability to multi-task

    7. Willingness to work nights and weekends when needed

    8. Desire to minister to and love those who need Jesus Christ

    9. Ability to work as part of a team approach

    | JOB DUTIES: | % of Time | 1. | Supervise Family Shelter and Modified Guests enforcing Shelter policies and coach/giving consequences as necessary. • Scan Guests into or check them out of HMIS relative to your shift • Updating of the Tally as needed • Complete or update forms in use at the desk such as Modified Belongings Sign In/Out; WIC; Laundry Bags; Meals Requested; Room Inspections, Incident Reports, etc. • Conflict resolution/deescalating potentially volatile situations • Distribution of medications • Notification of appointments, giving and receiving of necessary paperwork from/to CM or other resources. • Distribution of Hygiene supplies • Supervise serving line at meals | 50% | 2. | Greet guests, volunteers, and visitors accompanied by staff as they enter the WCC. Buzzer may be utilized for those who are known to staff; men must have Mission ID or ID from their community partner resource office to enter the building. Answer incoming lines for the WCC, responding to questions regarding services, etc. Take accurate messages for guests and post on bulletin board. | Ongoing | 3. | Complete intakes on families/individuals coming into the shelter: • Enter intake information into HMIS • Complete all list items on WCC Intake Checklist • Supply guests with verifications of stay at the Rescue Mission | 20% | 4. | Record pertinent information pertaining to Guests in daily log and chart in their V-drive. • Record move out info/Job attained in white binder when appropriate. Email WCC the Family Shelter daily log at the end of shift. | 15% | 5. | Communicate information accurately to other departments at the Rescue Mission | Ongoing | 6. | Lead Family Chapel as needed | As needed | 7. | Assist Housekeeping, Maintenance, and IT teams in identifying and addressing issues. Send necessary requests via the Housekeeping, Maintenance, & IT links on Mission Intranet. | 5% | 8. | Complete room checks at 9, 1 or 3 am - relative to your shift - to clear the building or verify that everyone is in their assigned beds. | 5% | 9. | Make protective service reports to CPS, APS, & Roanoke PD when deemed necessary | Ongoing | 10. | Keep supply cabinets, drawers, & Modified closet neat and orderly and restock when needed. Put away donations as they arrive. | 5% | 11. | Complete duties as assigned to each shift. | Ongoing | 12. | Pass on pertinent information to the next shift. Report any concerns to Manager, Case Managers as appropriate. | Ongoing | 13. | Attend seminars/workshops and other educational opportunities as requested. | Ongoing | 14. | Maintain shared google calendar filling slots with appropriate time allotments for the type of appointments scheduled if currently in use. | Ongoing | 15. | Promotion of a team atmosphere among Case Management Team and Shelter Supervisors working within WCC Supervisor job description; refer to the appropriate source complaints or questions; communicate with Case Managers with regard to information that needs to be transmitted to, or obtained from shelter guests in a professional manner | Ongoing | 16. | Be a shoulder when a guest needs to cry, a cheerleader when they accomplish a goal, and an encourager when they are discouraged. Encourage guests, share the Gospel of Jesus Christ whenever the opportunity arises, and pray for/with Shelter guests. | Ongoing | 17. | Volunteer/Intern Engagement is a strategy that builds the capacity of the Rescue Mission through employee and volunteer partnership.
