    Job Description

    This Research Analyst role provides a great opportunity for someone to learn from a talented team of commercial real estate brokerage and development professionals. We are looking for a talented person eager to grow their career in an entrepreneurial environment. The position will provide market research and analysis for the Washington, DC commercial real estate market. The role will encompass certain regular tasks around the collection and analysis of core data, as well as a range of activities that contribute to and support the production and delivery of research material, transaction analytics, brokerage services and client relations support in developing pitch and/or proposal materials as well as local thought leadership.

    Responsibilities:

    • Researches and collects market information and assists in creation of research deliverables such as quarterly reports, white papers, market and submarket analyses, trend analytics, business and economic intelligence.
    • Proactively and routinely update and manage research databases
    • Prepare statistics and analysis and assist in writing quarterly market reports
    • Interacts daily with brokers, leadership, marketing and business development support team on specific pitches and projects.
    • Gathers data on newly available properties, transactions, tenants in the market, and new developments, etc.
    • Become expert on data subscription resources and tools (i.e. CoStar, VTS, etc.) and provide informal assistance such as technical guidance, and/or training to coworkers.
    • Provide analytical (e.g., cashflow, net effective rent and lease analyses) support to the transactions team
    • Assist brokerage professionals with market surveys, amenity maps, competitive sets, lease abstracts, and prospect reports, etc.
    • Assist with special projects as needed
    • Contribute to local thought leadership
    • Participate in development of local requests for research information for pitch and/or proposal materials.
    • Attend, participate in, and present market information at internal sales meetings
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university
    • 0-2 years of experience in commercial real estate or other market research role.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Strong organizational and analytical skills.
    • Strong work ethic and desire to grow in the commercial real estate industry.
    • Ability to provide efficient, timely, reliable and courteous service.
    • Ability to effectively present information.
    • Requires knowledge of financial terms and principles and intermediate analytical and quantitative skills.
    • Conducts basic financial analysis.
    • Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret documents.
    • Ability to solve problems involving several options in situations.
    • Fluency with Microsoft Excel
    • Intermediate experience with Microsoft Office
    • Some experience with Power BI, Tableau or other data visualization technology desired, but not required.
    • Decisions made with understanding of procedures and company policies to achieve set results and deadlines.
    • Proactive and positive attitude
