Note that this position is located at our Newport Beach, California office. We have a hybrid schedule where all staff are expected to be in the office on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, and have the option to work from home or in-office Mondays & Fridays.

Research Internship Program at Canterbury Consulting
The Research Internship Program at Canterbury is a challenging and rewarding opportunity for the individual looking to gain experience with institutional investing. At Canterbury, the Research Intern will join in the investment success of foundations, endowments, and families by participating in manager research and diligences, asset allocation, manager selection, and investment analytics.
This 6-month program is centered around the Research team, working alongside associates, vice presidents, and the director of research on the production of client and internal deliverables such as manager diligence notes, asset class research, investment manager searches, and portfolio construction. In the Research Intern role Interns will work alongside our energetic and intellectually curious research professionals and participate in the research and due diligence of investment strategies that are a key component of our clients’ success.
By the end of the program, the Research Intern will understand:
The different asset classes we recommend to our clients (both public and private), as well as the investment strategies and vehicles used in portfolios (e.g. hedge funds, private equity funds, and mutual funds);
The key criteria to evaluate a manager and strategy;
Canterbury’s manager approval process and be familiar with approved managers – their strategies and benchmarks; and
The basic functions of the applications used to execute on manager research and diligence, including, Bloomberg Terminal, Morningstar Direct, and Pitchbook.
