    Position Summary:

    We have an exciting opening for a Research Coordinator position within the Ronald O. Perelman Department of Emergency Medicine’s Research Division. In this role, the successful candidate will work under the direction of Principal Investigator and Medical Director for Geriatric Emergency Medicine, Dr. Ula Hwang, to provide research-based and administrative support for all geriatric emergency medicine research initiatives, and the incumbent Program Manager.

    The Research Coordinator will be responsible for assisting in a multitude of research-based and administrative activities including assisting with the pre-award federal and non-federal grant application components, assisting with Institutional Review Board submissions, drafting sponsor reports, monitoring budgets, drafting presentations and monthly reports for leadership, communication and dissemination of programmatic materials, and providing analytic and scientific writing support. The Research Coordinator will serve as liaison with internal and external funding agencies, and will ensure the accurate execution of research protocols in accordance with Good Clinical Practices, HIPAA, and required obligations to patient/subject, Principal Investigator, Research Team and sponsor. The ideal candidate will be highly organized to ensure deliverables are met effectively, on time, and are of high quality.

    Job Responsibilities:

    1. Demonstrates knowledge of the organization's Core Values and incorporates them into the performance of duties.
    2. Grants Assists in pre-award grant related activities such as developing and writing components
    of grants applications, letters of support, Other Support documentation, maintaining
    faculty biosketches and coordinating with subawards. Collects and organizes required paperwork for submission of the grant. Assists in drafting certain scientific components, such as the Human Subjects Research sections. Follows up and coordinates resolution of all issues. Assists in the planning of large multi-site research. Draft forms and questionnaires and manage the application of research techniques.
    3. Research Activities Assists in the institutional review board (IRB) process for all active grants, including preparing new IRBs, continuations, modifications, and close-outs. Assists in supervising research within the scope of established study protocol. Adheres to all human subjects' regulations as defined by the IRB and the federal government that pertain to research studies.
    4. Project/Program Coordination With a high degree of independence, assists the Program Manager with multiple federal and privately-funded research projects including planning,
    implementing, and organizing all related meetings (weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annually). Drafts and plans meeting agendas in a timely fashion, assists in releasing meeting minutes and assists
    with meeting outcomes. May travel to and present on study related projects within the U.S. as needed such as scheduled site visits, national program meetings, or national conferences.
    5. Reports Drafts sponsor-related annual and final progress reports and Interim, Annual and Final Research Performance Progress Reports. May review Subaward Agreements, service agreements, and data transfer use agreements in partnership with the Program Manager, Grant Manager and Contracts Manager. Monitors budgets for all funded projects including tracking expenditures and monitoring of multiple service agreements and subcontracts. Makes recommendations about budgetary adjustments that are needed to remain on or under budget for the funding year.
    6. Project/Program Support - Reviews workflow and recommends improvement if applicable to ensure appropriate cycle times and efficiency. Works closely with research and project teams and collaborators to identify quality and operational strategies and aspects the study or project needs to overcome. Cultivates and maintains strong working partnerships and effective communications with principal investigators, study sponsors, collaborators, pre- and post-award grant managers, contracts managers, study coordinators, and government officials to ensure the safe and timely progression of studies and adherence to all study/agency/government regulations.
    7. Analytic Support Assists with requesting, organizing, and analytic supports of data teams that may include basic programming, debugging and other tasks in support of data analyses. Assists in maintaining and preparing data from electronic health records (EHR) and other sources, including chart review. Ability to troubleshoot problems and propose solutions with information technology needs.
    8. Participates in special projects and performs other duties as required.

    Minimum Qualifications:
    To qualify you must have a Bachelor's degree in life sciences, allied health or equivalent in a related discipline and 0-1 years experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Effective oral, written, communication, interpersonal skills. Must be able to work under the direction of supervision. Ability to operate research related equipment. Proficiency in using various Microsoft Office applications such as World, Excel, Access, Power Point and Outlook. Familiar with Internet applications. Ability to identify, analyze and solve problems. Time management skills and ability to work well under pressure.

    Preferred Qualifications:
    1. Masters Degree
    2. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Word Press, Endnote, Adobe Acrobat
    3. Experience with EHR clinical data.

    NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $64,350.00 - $64,490.40 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
