Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Research Medical Assistant to support a clinical research team conducting multiple studies. The ideal candidate will have experience in clinical research and studies, successful detailed data entry, phlebotomy and lab work, and patient interaction, with a strong ability to multitask and maintain confidentiality in a fast-paced medical environment.
Key Responsibilities:
· Clinical Duties:
o Perform medical tests, including vital sign measurements.
o Conduct phlebotomy procedures with precision and adhere to the laboratory’s policies and regulations.
o Provide patient education on medication dosage, administration, and disease management.
o Document medical data accurately in patient charts and research records, ensuring compliance with study protocols.
· Administrative Duties:
o Compile and manage databases, including data entry of high volumes of patient and study data.
o Assist with study-related administrative tasks, such as organizing study materials and tracking participant progress.
o Manage phones, schedule appointments, and greet patients.
o Prepare lab work and manage examination rooms.
o Maintain confidential patient records in accordance with HIPAA, research regulations, and clinical study protocols.
· General Responsibilities:
o Communicate effectively with patients, research coordinators, and healthcare providers.
o Ensure adherence to medical office procedures, study protocols, and regulatory guidelines.
o Work independently and collaboratively to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
o Maintain a professional and compassionate demeanor while interacting with patients and team members.
Qualifications:
· Required:
o High school diploma or equivalent.
o Prior experience in a clinical research setting or a minimum of 1-2 years of experience as a Medical Assistant, including proficiency in phlebotomy.
o Knowledge of medical terminology, clinical procedures, and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
o Proficient data entry/keyboard skills.
o Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
o Ability to multitask and work independently in a dynamic environment.
o Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general computer skills.
· Preferred:
o Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish (written and verbal).
o Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA or RMA).
o Prior experience in a clinical research setting.
