    Job Title: Residential Aide Organization: My Place Home for the Homeless, Inc. Location: Buffalo, NY About Us: My Place Home for the Homeless, Inc. is a dedicated not-for-profit organization focused on providing comprehensive support to individuals experiencing homelessness. We offer both temporary/emergency housing and permanent supportive housing, along with essential resources such as job training, mental health and medical services, and access to transportation. Our mission is to empower individuals to regain stability and self-sufficiency through compassionate care and community-based solutions.

    Job Overview: We are seeking a diligent and compassionate Residential Aide to aid clients with health conditions, disabilities, or aging in daily tasks to maintain a comfortable living experience. Residential Aide would provide essential services to the residents of our apartment building (8 units). Top candidates will not only be assistants but companions who are great listeners, communicators, sensitive, and respectful to those in need.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Monitor residents’ activities to ensure safety and compliance with facility rules.

    Assist residents with daily living tasks, include laundry, bathing, dressing, cleaning, cooking/meal preparation, and/or transportation.

    Provide emotional support and conflict resolution as needed.

    Ensuring that the residents' living quarters are safe, clean, and well-organized.

    Report incidents, medical issues, or concerns to supervisors or case managers.

    Facilitate group activities or workshops to promote community engagement.

    Ensure proper documentation of daily activities and residents' progress, including activity, mood, and behavior.

    Assisting residents with daily personal routines, including bathing, dressing, grooming, eating, and using the bathroom.

    Providing companionship to residents and establishing a trusting relationship with them.

    Ensuring that residents are taking their prescribed medication.

    Performing any reasonable requests from residents.

    Collaborating with management and coworkers to ensure residents receive the best quality of life possible.

    Requirements:

    High school diploma.

    Experience working in the mental health field or with disabled people.

    First aid and CPR training is a MUST.

    CNA or similar certification a plus.

    Friendly, professional demeanor.

    Strong emotional intelligence and listening skills.

    Good physical fitness.

    This position works a minimum of 30 hours a week. We offer employer sponsored health insurance (employee only) and paid holidays.
