Great News! The Developmental Disabilities Division is growing at DePaul Community Resources. DePaul Community Resources is recruiting for a Residential Coordinator – full-time (37.5 hours workweek) –Ashland, VA.
JOB SUMMARY
The Residential Coordinator is a case manager and advocate, providing quality services that best meet the individual's social, health, community, and safety interests. The Residential Coordinator provides advocacy and case management for services based on the individual's interests, needs, and abilities. This position provides oversight to the sponsored residential home and provides support services to individuals on their assigned caseload. The Residential Coordinator also provides ongoing assessment of risk and protective factors and assesses the strengths and needs of providers and individuals served. This position is assigned to an on-call rotation.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED
The Residential Coordinator reports directly to the Sponsored Residential Manager.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS TO APPLY: A Bachelor's degree in a human services field or a Bachelor's degree in an unrelated area of study verified by an official transcript from an accredited college that includes at least 15 semester credits in a human services field is required. A minimum of one year of professional experience with the ID/DD population is required, and personal experience may be considered. Case management experience is desired.
WHAT TO EXPECT
A Residential Coordinator's first few weeks are filled with initial training, both live (in-person or via Zoom) and pre-recorded training, with subsequent knowledge and skills tests via an online learning management system to develop and assess competencies and awareness or regulations and resources for your role. Training and development are intensive during the first six months of employment and include but are not limited to the following: Home and Community Based Services, Human Rights/Serious Incident Reporting, 32-hour Medication Administration, CPR/First Aid, TOVA, Documentation Training, HIPAA Training, and numerous Nurse Delegation training.
These trainings are the fundamentals for Residential Coordinators assurance of best practices in service delivery. Residential Coordinators will receive guidance on utilizing additional electronic systems such as Extended Reach (eR) and WaMS. By approximately week three, Residential Coordinators will receive self-guided tasks to provide experience independently navigating files, documents, and electronic systems, then begin to take on assigned responsibilities and caseloads.
What does a ResidentialCoordinator's day-to-day look like?
Residential Coordinators must be highly organized as they manage scheduled meetings, training, home visits, various appointments, and the unexpected with their assigned caseloads. They field daily phone calls and complete impromptu paperwork as needed. This position requires advanced skills in prioritizing tasks based on urgency and established due dates. Residential Coordinators review progress notes and other monthly paperwork completed by contracted Sponsored Residential Providers in a timely manner to accurately complete monthly billing for their assigned caseload, ensuring corrections and documentation are uploaded on time and appropriately.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
The following may be required after a conditional job offer: current DMV driving record with results that comply with insurer guidelines; drug and alcohol screening with satisfactory results stipulated by applicable governing, funding, or regulatory agencies; documentation of a PPD test, chest x-ray, or screening from a qualified medical professional indicating the absence of TB; criminal and child protective services background report. The applicant shall not have been convicted of any barrier crime(s) on the criminal background report. The applicant will have no founded disposition of child abuse or neglect as documented by the Child Protective Services background report.
A hybrid work arrangement, a combination of remote and onsite work, may be available.
Compensation depends on qualifications and experience.
