    Our firm is seeking a Landscape Forman with experience. Assist, plan, organize, direct, or coordinate activities of workers engaged in landscaping or groundskeeping activities, such as planting and maintaining ornamental trees, shrubs, flowers, and lawns, and applying fertilizers, pesticides, and other chemicals, according to contract specifications. May also coordinate activities of workers engaged in terracing hillsides, building retaining walls, constructing pathways, and similar activities in following a landscape design plan. Work may involve reviewing contracts to ascertain service, machine, and workforce requirements; answering inquiries from potential customers regarding methods, material, and price ranges; and preparing estimates according to labor, material, and machine costs. Requires medium to heavy work that involves walking, standing, stooping, lifting, digging, pushing, and raising objects and involves exerting between 20 to 50 pounds of force on a recurring basis. The job requires normal visual acuity, the field of vision, hearing, speaking, color perception, and depth perception. Employees are also expected to lead by example and demonstrate the highest level of ethics. Responsibilities: • Coordinate work schedule with Preservation Manager, to ensure property staffing performs duties. • Train and assist in providing orientation of new employees. • Ability to initiate and complete work orders. • Provide workers with assistance in performing duties as necessary to meet deadlines. • Inspect work of personnel and recommend corrective measures to meet established standards. • Assist with maintaining labor and cost records and requisitions materials, supplies, and equipment as required. • Identify diseases and pests affecting landscaping, and order appropriate treatments. • Maintain all grounds equipment including record keeping of all maintenance performed. • Ability to spot problems and diseases in plants and take up preventive measures. • A good knowledge of gardening methods and foliage. • Knowledge of operational techniques, tools, methods, practices, procedures, and materials related to grounds maintenance, • landscaping, and vegetation control. • Knowledge of the proper procedures for operating, inspecting, and maintaining assigned equipment. • Knowledge of occupational hazards, safety precautions, and safety regulations related to equipment operation, hazardous materials, traffic patterns and conditions, and other work-related precautions. • Ability to read chemical labels. • Perform and supervise the preparation and application of herbicides, fungicides, and insecticides to grounds in compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations. • Ability to read the material and disseminate safety data sheets (MSDS). • Establish and enforce operating procedures and work standards that will ensure adequate performance and personnel safety. • Provide equipment recommendations for all grounds maintenance activities. • Provide and maintain a plan for long-range maintenance needs of fields and planting beds. • Maintain and operate all irrigation systems, if required. • Keep abreast of new information, innovative ideas, and techniques, regarding lawn care maintenance. • Schedule and coordinate irrigation and watering activities as required in assigned areas. • Trim and prune a variety of trees and shrubs. • Pick up litter and empty outdoor trash/recycling cans. • Spray for weeds and insects using unrestricted chemicals as required. • Perform minor maintenance and repairs on equipment and tools as required. Qualifications: • Must be 18 years of age, requires a valid driver’s license, and an adequate vehicle. • Requires 3-5 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. • Ability and experience to operate required equipment including lawnmowers, small cart/vehicle, edger, chainsaw, etc.Excellent verbal communications, Professional Presentation Skills, Self-Motivated, Team Player, Interdependent, Punctual. SKILLS:Must be able to use a variety of hand tools and equipment to include, but not limited to, weed eaters, blowers, mowers, hedgers, and edgers. Compensation: $18 - $20 per hr
