    Responsiblitlies:

    The Residential Nursing Team Leader at Multicultural Community Services (MCS) is responsible for overseeing the nursing team's systems and service delivery across the residential program. This role includes supervising other nurses within the residential program, coordinating with the Clinical Director, and ensuring that holistic care is effectively delivered in collaboration with the Positive Behavior Support (PBS) clinicians. The Residential Nursing Team Leader will play a pivotal role in maintaining the high standards of care for individuals supported within the residential program.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Team Leadership: Oversee and supervise the nursing staff within the residential program, ensuring that nursing services are delivered efficiently and by MCS standards.
    • Service Coordination and Liaison: Oversee the nursing team’s coordination with the Clinical Director and PBS clinicians to ensure holistic care for individuals across the residential program. Serve as the primary liaison between the nursing team and the
    • Clinical Director, ensuring that nursing practices are aligned with the goals of the Clinical Team and that communication flows efficiently across all departments.
    • System Management: Oversee the nursing team’s systems, including medication administration, documentation, and compliance with Department of Developmental Services (DDS) and Department of Public Health (DPH) regulations.
    • Staff Training: Identify and address the training needs of nursing staff, coordinating with the Residential Director, Clinical Director, and MCS Training Coordinator to provide necessary training.
    • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to DDS and DPH regulations, Department of Developmental Services Human Rights Standards, Disabled Persons Protection Commission’s (DPPC) mandated reporter guidelines, and Office of Quality Enhancement (OQE) indicators.
    • Documentation and Record-Keeping: Monitor and maintain all medical/medication records, ensure timely reporting, and complete documentation of medication errors, medical incidents, and other required medical documentation.
    • Program Representation: Attend and participate in DDS MAP meetings, ISP meetings, and other relevant medical or specialist appointments as necessary.
    • Continuous Improvement: Engage in ongoing education and training to stay current with best practices in nursing care, particularly for individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities.
