    Job Summary

    We are seeking a Respiratory Therapist to join our team! 13-week travel contract dayshift 3x12-Hour (07:00 - 19:30) in the Newark area! As a Respiratory Therapist on the team, you will be responsible for evaluating patients undergoing many different procedures and medical situations and making recommendations for an appropriate respiratory treatment plan. You may also provide respiratory care to medically fragile or complex patients, insert or remove endotracheal tubes, and work closely with the patient and their family to ensure they understand what is happening every step of the way. The ideal candidate has a patient, kind attitude with excellent bedside manner, a deep understanding of patient needs, and a strong grasp on respiratory regulations and best practices.

    Every other weekend required… No on call… 2+ years of experience in a hospital setting required Patient ratio is variable… Must be highly skilled and well versed in Nitric Oxide… Must have HFOV, HFJV , SERVO 1, Servo U and PB 980 experience… Peds (PICU) /Neonatal (NICU) experience is preferred... BLS required… NRP preferred… Must have NJ License… CRT or RRT is acceptable… First time traveler accepted… Travel pairs are not accepted… EPIC charting…

    Responsibilities

    Meet with and evaluate a variety of patients

    Make recommendations on respiratory care based on their specific needs and situations

    Perform basic respiratory care, including inserting and removing tubes, adjusting machines, and more

    Work with both the family and the patient to ensure their needs are being met, and they understand what is happening.

    Qualifications

    Active credentials from the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) or state board equivalent required

    State licensure required

    Deep understanding of respiratory care, patient care, and best patient practices

    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
