Job Summary
We are seeking a Restaurant Expeditor to join the team at our busy restaurant! As a Food Runner, you are the link between the kitchen and the wait staff. You will set and clear tables, deliver food, and generally act as the liaison between the front of house and back of the house. If you’re friendly, hard-working, and interested in getting your foot in the door in the hospitality industry, we want to hear from you.
Responsibilities:
Act as the liaison between the kitchen and the front-of-house staff.
Ensure all food orders are prepared accurately and presented beautifully before they are served.
Monitor the flow of orders to optimize the pace of service and maintain efficiency during busy periods.
Assist with the plating of food, ensuring it meets the restaurant's presentation standards.
Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to resolve any issues with orders, including modifications or substitutions.
Serve customers their meals and drinks in an efficient manner
Communicate food orders to the kitchen staff
Maintain cleanliness and organization at the expediting station and ensure it remains stocked with necessary supplies.
Provide support to servers when needed, including delivering dishes and taking drink orders.
Uphold food safety and hygiene standards in accordance with health regulations.
Qualifications:
Experience as a busser, barback, food runner, or similar position is preferred
Previous experience in a restaurant or food service environment preferred.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.
Attention to detail and a passion for food presentation.
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy trays as needed.
Friendly and outgoing personality
Availability to work evening and weekend shifts
