    Job Description

    Summary
    The primary responsibility of the Retail Analyst is to provide our national sales, brand & merchandising teams with the reporting, assistance, and information needed to efficiently and successfully grow sales and uncover trends, and opportunities. This role touches many departments and offers a variety of interesting projects. Reporting directly to the Senior Retail Analyst, this position creates reports and analyzes data in a way that empowers sales and executive leadership teams to make key strategic business decisions.

    Essential Functions

    Data Management and Report Creation (Approx. 60% of role)

    • Data Portal Management: transforming data exports into Microsoft Excel-based dashboards formatted for impactful and succinct analysis
    • Assist Senior Analyst with: 1) Promotional participation and success by salesperson/account 2) Brand positioning- create a compelling data visualization as to why our brand should win, keep, or grow a particular piece of business 3) Ensure custom data sets remain updated, enter new items 90 days before scanning to ensure scanning reports in as soon as sales begin and other duties as requested

    Presentations (Approx. 30% of role)

    • Assisting in presentation building and design for category reviews, buyer meetings, business reviews and more for our Sales team to present to customers (retailers, distributors, brokers, etc.) using Microsoft PowerPoint
    • Prep the slide deck and work with senior analyst on key visualizations
    • Coordinate other presentation materials/info from brand or sales team and ensure they are properly incorporated within the presentation

    Additional Responsibilities (approx. 10% of role)

    • Various data & analysis-based projects may be needed to help support various teams such as marketing/brand, private brand sales, product development, sourcing teams, etc.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Microsoft Excel: advanced to expert skill level
    • Microsoft PowerPoint: intermediate to advanced skill level are a must
    • Create reports from raw data and drill down in terms of analysis required
    • A quantitative mind and approach to work. Excellent with numbers and detail oriented with a commitment to accuracy & proofreading
    • Excellence in professional writing & a highly proficient communicator
    • Ability to work collaboratively across a wide-range of teams
    • Always maintains a professional & positive customer-centric, service-first approach
    • Passion for consumer products, the specialty food industry and/or the Mediterranean & international regions is a plus

    Background Requirements

    • 2-3 years experience in data transformation-portals such as SPINS, Nielsen or IRI
    • Fundamental software/computer expertise is important, particularly Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, CRM programs, and Microsoft Dynamics (Navision)

    Additional Information

    Job Type: Full-time

    Pay: $80,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
