This position is critical to the ministry of Sky Ranch and contributes directly to our mission of leading youth and families to know and follow Christ. The Retail Shift Lead supports the ministries of Sky Ranch by providing an excellent experience for guests purchasing items through our retail stores and Café Sky, and exceeding guest expectations through excellent customer service and a quality environment. This position oversees other retail staff and assists in completing functions relating to Retail as they pertain to guest, staff and families. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: serving customers; use of point of sale software; replenishing stock; cleaning and maintaining equipment in all retail locations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Arrive prior to other staff positions to ensure store or café is fully staffed and prepared to open on time.
Maintain knowledge of all positions and can train or cover any position that needs to be covered.
Serve guests in Café Sky and/ or Corner Store, including but not limited to:
Fulfill orders.
Handle payment.
Cook food items ordered.
Handle inventory (stocking shelves, pricing items).
Keep area safe, clean and orderly.
Handle opening and closing duties for shift as assigned.
Assist in the maintenance of inventory.
Complete the overall daily operations moving smoothly throughout the shift, as needed.
Deposit accurately at the end of each shift.
Ensure that all cleaning assigned to staff is done to manager’s specifications.
Report to the Retail Supervisor when any situation or issue arises.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintain compliance with Sky Ranch’s employee policies and procedures.
Comply with Texas Department of Health, ACA, and OSHCOM regulations and guidelines.
Comply with Sky Ranch retail service policies and procedures.
Perform other duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION
High school degree.
EXPERIENCE
Two years of experience in a similar field.
KNOWLEDGE
Knowledge of principles and processes for providing excellent customer service. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
Basic business math, being able to accurately calculate simple percentages, addition, and subtraction.
Proficient working knowledge and ability to use various office software including, but not limited to, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Physical effort required on a routine basis; ability to use up to 20 pounds of force frequently for moving and carrying objects.
Ability to grasp, push, pull, carry or otherwise manipulate objects; ability to perform tasks requiring action of muscles or groups of muscles and foot and/or hand-eye coordination.
Requires physical agility, including but not limited to: bending for items below or reaching for items above the individual; crawling under desks; stooping, and climbing step stools or ladder.
Work late night hours and weekends, as required.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Works indoors in normal retail and food environment majority of the time.
Some exposure to physical risk while performing job duties, including but not limited to high temperatures for cooking; handling hot food items; working in food preparation areas.
